For the ones who knows Rancid:
Rancid wrote a song "Old friend" that's about Offspring... but I don't know if it's a good thing or not...
Do Rancid and Offspring like each other????

Here are the lycris. In case you haven't heard the song.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Look up youíre in cleveland again a solid line that never ends Iíve got
Stories youíll never realize and I know it I wear it on my sleeve there must
Be somethiní about you that I liked but right here in the rain you know it
Just donít seem right I always go out I never hide but in cleveland I should
Have stayed inside good morning heartache your like an old friend come and see
Me again testify my love for you I know it runs deep through your body too
From the cold blacktop to the hot concrete the old tan van it ainít so sweet
Somewhere in america in the city at night we were far from home but you know
It was gonna be alright the unfortunate get prayed on by vultures eyes 86
Cents in these pockets of mine

i remember a song by NOFX that was about how bands that used "WHOAA" 's in their songs sucked, except AFI and Offspring because they were the only bands who could do it right.

i don't know if Rancid is on god terms with Offspring. i really don't like rancid anymore. their new album was just horrible. i liked them better when they were punk.

yeah, the offspring and rancid are still friendly. i think offspring (or dexter and noodles, at least) were invited to matt freeman's wedding a year or two back. he's rancid's awesome bassist, in case you didn't know.

and before anyone asks, lars is NOT noodles' brother. ;)

while it's a great song, i'm not so sure about "old friend" being written about offspring. i always thought it was more of a love song, or at least a song about an old friend in particular. but what do i know ... i guess it's cool if tim is testifying his love for dexter. haha.
