its what is known as 'pig latin' means fuck so 'ixnay on the hombre' means 'fuck on the man' or 'Fuck the man' and since 'the man' is suppost to mean authority its means 'fuck authority'

In Spanish, "no" means "no". English and Spanish have the same word for "no".

i thought ixnay meant no

yes cause no on the man makes sence? However Ixnay translates directly to nix in engish as that how pig lattin works which I've read means no but im pretty sure Dexter said it mean fuck authority fuck = ixnay and authority = the man

FUCK AUTHORITY ! IXNAY ON THE HOMBRE ! lol

seriously, I kinda believe that IS the true meaning. but it's not Offspring-like to hide between such stuff - I would have thought they'd just have named it Fuck Authority,

here's why: ixnay on the hombre just sounds cool

anyway:

here's some Merriam-Webster official defintions for nix:

Main Entry: *3*nix
Function: adverb: NO -- used to express disagreement or the withholding of permission; often used with on <they said nix on our plan>

or

Main Entry: *2*nix
Function: transitive verb
: VETO, REJECT <the court nixed the merger>

so quite plainly just leave the title "ixnay on the hembre" to let you know that the offspring doesnt so much like the man (to put it subtly) and they would rather have him not be in exsistance.

p.s. : sry i sound like such a prik
p.p.s. : gimme a break, i just finished a semister of writing shakespeare essays for school
p.p.p.s. :still i should have been a little more relaxed and thrown some potty mouth stuff in there (*fuck* i usually cus a lot i just dont feel like it right now)
p.p.p.p.s. : i like making things look longer by putting post messeges in
