According to the pamphlet that came with GH, the drumming on Can't Repeat was recorded by Josh Freese. What's up with that? I thought he only recorded for Splinter. Anyone know?

That would be stupid cuz they keep claiming it's their "newest" material since Splinter, so maybe they are fulla crap.

Well that's strange, what does it say literally? Write it literally. It's just drumming by Josh Freese? I guess it's clear then...

I always thought the drumming even sounded like Atom, hehe.

Yea, drums by Josh Freese, although it says that it was produced by Jerry Finn so that was post Splinter, I'm wondering if they just did that so they didn't have to pay out Royalties to 3 different drummers, does that make sense?

I think that'd make sense. It's not like he'd suck so much or that he would've been so busy guy that couldn't make it, I guess.

But Jaysus, will they use Josh Freese on the next record too?

its not that big of a deal, they obviously recorded the song before atom was officially a member then, who cares. plus i heard that atom will be making the drum lines now, so the good news is that we didnt hear atom on cant repeat, which gives us hope that it wont be normal drum lines as usual, so this only lives us with more anticipation for the next album.

I seem to remember a few months of not having a drummer before Atom was brought in full-time. Maybe it was recorded in that interim period. Or maybe Atom just couldn't be in the studio for whatever reason on whatever day they went in to record the song. Josh Freese is not only a phenomenal and prolific session drummer, but also friends with the band--the Vandals used to be on Nitro, remember?

Not that big a deal. Reading some of these responses, I'd almost think some of you were saying Dexter fucked your dog...

It just eamns its not really a "new song" and was probably excluded form Splinter because it sounded a lot like "long Way Home" if you rememebr Noodles said something about ow 3 or 4 songs were excluded from Splinter

Does it say somthing like,

"The Offspring are

Dexter Holland - Vocals, Guitar
Noodles -Guitar
Greg K- Bass
Atom Willard- Drums"

or is it like splinter with no drummer listed in the band list but just credited. Or what?

The book says this;

Vocals, guitar- Dexter Holland
Bass- Greg K
Guitar- Noodles
Drums- Ron Welty
(except tracks 1, 13, and 14 by Josh Freese)

I assume that doesn't include Next to You, since it doesn't officially exist as a track. So maybe Atom drums on Next to You.

ok That makes it clearer. Maybe Josh Freese is just the studio drummer at the moment but i expect Atom Will do the next Album and be credited with the Drums.

well... that was really confusing...

I would like to know who did drums for "I Wanna Be Sedated" then...

Was is Josh or what? it had to be right... this track was recorded in 2003 and Josh was drumming at that point...and i thought i read that Dexter wanted "I Wanna Be Sedated" on the Greatest hits for a ramones tribute...

I Wanna Be Sedated was recorded in 1999, and re-used for the 2003 Ramones tribute. Ever see Idle Hands?

Does anyone have the cant repeat single, or isn't that one released yet?
If it says drumming by Josh Freese on it too, it might be true. But my guess is that it's just a printing misstake.
