View Full Version : Get It Right - The Original Demo

Before I had my computer rebuilt and all my MP3's wiped I remember I once downloaded a live version of Get it Right from ages ago but just as I was about to start singing along I noticed Dexter started singing some completely different lyrics to those on Ignition.

Perhaps this was a demo played at a live concert I dunno, I've been searching for ages but I haven't managed to find those original lyrics for Get It Right. Anyone heard this version before and know the lyrics?

There's a live version on www.offspring.art.pl that's a little more scream-y. It's from 1991.

I didn't hear any lyrical differentiations, though. But then again, it was background music, I wasn't paying much attention. I have it on iTunes somewhere, it's pretty cool.

""maybe you just sang the wrong lyrics""

Or maybe if you listen to the 1991 version as mentioned by Venom Symbiote then you will find there is a lyrical difference to the version on Ignition!!

It's good being right

Which part's different in the lyrics? I have the file, but I'm too lazy to compare the two at any great depth.

Before they recorded Ignition, Dex used to improvise the lyrics to Get it Right during every show. Every live show had different lyrics because of this. Now he sings the ones he wrote for the album.

Wow. That's really cool, I didn't know that.

Do you know what the lyric differences in this live RECORDING are, though?

I have the version off the Baghdad 7" Single.

It's really hard to pick up on what he's saying, he's singing that quickly.

Some parts are the same for example:

"Look out boy tomorrow comes and things will look better by then, but I look out out the window and look in the mirror......"

But the verses are definitlely different.

It sounds to me though towards the end of the song he sings either "PHOBIA" or "FALL BEYOND" instead of "No Way Out"

But yeah the song is really cool, I recommend you all hear it

I have the version off the Baghdad 7" Single.
This version is completely instrumental. The Baghdad single was from 1990 I think so that means any live version they played until Ignition had lyrics which were fiddled with.

Yeah well the live version I'm on about is the 1991 live one thats available on the Polish site.
