Everyone's saying they'd like to go and probably could, but no one's saying when. Soo....when should we do this thing?

How much lead-time to we need? Should we be planning for August, or could we do this in July?

Some people are a bit far from NY, so I think they might need a bit more than a few weeks time to plan it out.

How about - what weekends between July 16th and August 20th can each of y'all make it. If you're ever going to do it, it's best to start whittling down dates now.

I'm available most any weekend but the first weekend in August...the 3rd or 4th, I believe.

I never plan anything that far in advance so I'm pretty much free aside from work for the rest of the year (cept in November, but that's a ways off)

I'm gonna be away for the summer so i'm expecting another chance. Have fun the rest of you and good luck.

I have no ID for a couple of months, and I'd need a good reason to get it early since then I would need government involvement. And since I don't have a car, I can't just drive. So yeah, if you all want to miss out on the coolest Canadians...

How's this, try for NEXT July. I'd love to join, but I'm like 2000 miles from NY, that's like a 5 day drive for me.

just a thought.

Maybe there'll be another one next year. But I think we should def. keep planning for one this year.

sounds good.......
it would probably end up being an annual thing then!

Would after August be reasonable for everyone or would it be too much of a hassle with school?

I'm here until Labor Day weekend when I go back to school, so whenever, whatever, July's preferable though.

EDIT - Betty, if you can get an ID, the Toronto-NYC Amtrak takes about eight hours and it quite pleasant, I've done it a few times. It's reletively affordable too, like around a hundred and forty dollars US last time I checked.

Sic, that sounds decent... I'd look into it when/if I ever needed to travel there.

So... I guess it really depends if you can find enough people that can do it on such short notice... I suppose there are quite a few people around the NYC area... which, I believe was the initial point of having the idea... but I think it was also so people further might have a place to stay, etc. I guess you could always have a mini four people party!

Hey Guys. This sounds like something I'd be really interested in. If you guys could keep me posted as to what the plan is, maybe I can make it out there as well. I don't leave until August 17th for California. I'm in Iowa now. If you all organize something for August, I'd like to get a piece of it. Send me PM's or whatever. Thanks.

None of us are particularly interesting and attractive enough (except maybe 1565 with the red contacts) to come all the way from Iowa for, cause Iowa's so hip and cool and all that...

So this is looking more like a gathering for people who actually live in New York as opposed to a meetup where people come to NY.

Fine. Maybe I'll organize a Midwest gathering myself. No, screw it. I don't wanna do that.

Pfft, I've already met YOU and I have no desire to do it again. I'm gonna need more than just that for incentive.
