...and actually pay attention to them, comparing the pros and cons of various competing products while weiighing out the performances of different actors and how succesful they are in illustrating why someone should purchase a certain product? Does anyone actually occupy their minds watching these at three in the morning, or am I alone on this?

People who continually resist help, usually have some very serious problems. I think your problems may be a bit to serious for me to help you. You need to talk with your family about seeking a therapy. Now!!! Please this is for your own good.

Half-hour long commercials that channels play at around 10 in the morning when they run out of shows.

It sounds like you watch too much TV. Siting around watching TV can lead you to being out of shape which can casue health problems. You should think about taking a morning jog or two. Is there any thing else Dr. Bob can help you with?

Yeah, do you have any advice for people who compulsively give advice? In my personal opinion, a good kicking should clear that right up.

People who like to act rebelious, like you are often not happy with their self. Is there any problems in your life that you'd like to tell Dr. Bob?

Hahaha, yeah I used to do that sometimes. Now I usually work at night, and when I don't I have so many damn channels I can avoid infomercials. But for a while there I did. I first realised I had a problem when I saw them lower the price of a set of knives until I was practically as amazed as their audience. I mean, come on, how can they make the stuff that cheap!? Even if you assume third world labour it's still amazing. Oh god, why did you have to remind me of infomercials?

i start watching infomercials when i'm bored because i think i'll find them entertaining in their ridiculousness. then i start wanting to buy the things they're advertising and get scared, so i switch them off.

when i get home late, after a party or something i turn the tv... and.. tadaam! yeap.... infomercials!

i also watch them when i have insomnia, and of course, there's nothing good on tv.

When I watch them, I try and guess how much something is gonna be... with a friend.. then whoever guesses the nearest wins. Its great fun..
in my case, i pick 2 channels, and compare what they're selling at the same time. yeah, i know it's lame. :p

Miracle Blade... starring Chef Toni. Oh man.

I also love the shopping channel.

And those infomercials for CDs.

Dr. Bob: Discontinue having a pulse.

Ask my damn permission next time! =P

And yes, Sic, I have. It was early morning and I couldn't sleep. It was a choice between that and OD'ing on sleeping pills. Trust me, by the end, it was a close-run thing.

By the by, the word infomercial for some reason always makes me think of "It's my new Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine!"

Half-hour long commercials that channels play at around 10 in the morning when they run out of shows.Or during the night. Some are horrible. Horrible because here they translate them in French, but the people who translate them don't even talk at the same time of the "actor" and it just doesn't seem real at all. Too much exaggeration. They should put something else less stupid and more entertaining instead of those infocomercials.

I work the night shift by myself, and I leave the TV on to break the silence...At about 3 AM, the infomercials start rolling in...When I walk past the break-room, I find myself compelled to stop and watch...I have no idea why...They're so fake, it hurts...

One night, I found myself laughing uncontrollably at one selling hot-tubs...They tried to make it into some love story...Holy crap, it was funny...
