On the polish offspring site, I found this mp3 of Stand By Me live, but when you play it, It says it's Pennywise, but the singer sounds like Dexter. At the end, someone says "good job Brian" (or Bryan). Which is Dexter's real name, but he's never called that anymore. The the name of the drummer for Pennywise is Byron, which is kinda close. Does anyone know which band it really is??

It's Dexter singing but Pennywise playing the music - Dexter did a 'thingy' (I've totally forgotten what it's called  ) for Pennywise.

Offspring and pennywise are still friends right? Yeah.. I think one of the guys from Pennywise did backing vocals on Da hui.

I'm not sure, but I have the new Pennywise Album, and I swear that in the first song on there, Dexter is doing backing vocals in the chorus and just before the lead guitar.

mhhmmm.... it could be, but it's not clear. Anyway, at the milan show on sptember 2nd there were both pennywise and offspring, I was in first raw and shouted to the singer to play stand by me with the offspring and he laughed. dexter and noodles were on the backstage, so it wasn't impossible :D

I just listened again the song, and I don't think it's dexter, because it's the same voice that screams after a while, and that's not him

haha, their self titled album... well the last three tracks are incredible. the rest of the tracks are mediocre, and too many of their songs are about sex, drugs, or both... then the albums after the self titled were so dang poppy... I saw them live on the tour for the 3rd album, and wow, they were the worst live act I've ever seen :-/ actually, the live performance was what officially turned me away from them.

I saw them live in 2003 and they actually put on a pretty damn good show. You must've caught them on an off night or something. Their 3rd album I like better thant he self titled. The lyrics were more personal due to the lead singer's break up with famous actress Charlize Theron. Also, the 2nd album would've been better if the lyrics weren't removed from Slow Motion

I've always heard that jenkins' ego is through the roof... I heard one time he came out and started taking off his clothes during a performance, and he often brags about how great he is (which he did at the show I saw, too). also, jenkins' is a terrible singer. when I saw them, and I heard from many people at other shows, he gets really lazy. second half the concert, he left most of the singing to the audience, and he stopped actually singing and just spoke/rapped most of the words. their "new" guitarist isn't very good, either... the guy they had for the first two albums was great.. then jenkins kicked him out of the band in the middle of a tour...

Kevin Cadogan was great, but their current guitarist, Tony Fredianelli is great too. He used to be the lead guitarist for the speed metal band Apocrypha in the 80s. Stephan Jenkins does have a big ego though, but He usually is a good singer. Like I said, you might have caught them on an offnight. I saw them live, and saw videos of them live, and I thought he sounds pretty good. He can at least hit high notes and sing songs normally without having to tune the guitar a half step lower to sound good, unlike Dexter.

Isn't that Max Collins from Eve 6? They're pretty similar bands.

Max Collins of Eve 6 was the one that stripped dow, during the performance of the song Here's to the Night. Both Stephan Jenkins and Max Collins have big Egos.

I know other people who liked 3EB and then saw them live and thought the same thing, though. and he did strip at one show. he didn't get naked, but he did strip. I didn't think the new guitarist sounded that great... and stephan couldn't hit any high notes... and from what other people have said, he couldn't. you're the first person to say he sounded good...

do you have AIM or a messenger? I feel like we should move this 3eb convo off the board.

yeah, but I'm kinda busy at the moment. My AIM screen name is bd007h. I'm also a member of the 3eb.co.uk forums and I'm sure most people there would agree that SJ is a good singer. I also belive that the member XYlophonetreeZ on this board is a big 3eb fan.

Eve 6 is awesome. I really love them. I still regret that I never got to see them live :( I'm also saddened that they were getting better and better as a band before they got dropped... It's All In Your Head was such a terrific album... *sigh*

I saw Eve 6 live twice. First time was the day It's All In Your Head was released (July 22nd 2003). The 2nd time was the last show of their last tour, on May 2nd 2004. They only played one show after that, which was a festival show in St. Louis later that summer.

I had a chance to see them in the summer but lost all track of whatever date it was, and forgot about the concert. I didn't have tickets anyway and after I realized I missed the concert (which was during the Warped Tour) I thought the same thing as you, "next time...".
