Unlike some bands, this greatest hits release isn't merely a way to fulfill its contract with Columbia Records. The Offspring still are signed for two more studio albums, and a few songs are in the can already. Those will have to wait, though, till the Warped Tour ends.

Eh, not sure it's such a reliable source, but hey, whatever.

I was still under the official impression Splinter was their last, not counting the GH CD and DVD releases.

*shrugs* I'll take your word for it, for the moment I guess.

I believe it's two more albums, and by that time they have finished both albums and toured them both, they will be 46ish a perfect age to take a bow (well all except Noodles) and call it a day.

That was well calculated.

Funny, seeing as that has nothing-the-fuck to do with what we're talking about. I hope you get leukemia.

i hope he's wrong if Offspring albums are gonna be more pop than punk i'd rather they broke up and went out with what dignity they have left after splinter and GH

I don't think there is any danger of Offspring going pop, their roots of the band are Punk-Rock, they will never stray to far from their blueprint. There next album i think will be a mixture of Conspiracy of One, Ixnay, and Smash.

That's what they said about Splinter too, goose-mounter. ^ Not gonna happen.

Do you really think it's going to take them 10 years to get out the next two albums? I would think they could get them out, and tour them in 6 (if not 5) years.

Not saying they should push it. Though actually, unless I'm wrong, Noodles is 35 or so, and you said they, excluding Noodles, would be 46ish so then you would say it'd be over 10 years for two albums.

Unless it was just a typo...

Noodles is 42 i think, Dexter is 39, so maybe another 4 years. 2 years to tour with the first album, 2 more years for the album after that.

Yeah, my bad. Dexter is 39, turns 40 this year.

It's ok, i just hope they have the will and strength to go on and do 2 more albums.

It'll be bad when they finally go, though. Even if they will be in their 40s.

Hmmm, I'm sure they'll probably get bored and be another Aerosmith or something. Come out when they're 60, their music is historic, and then continue to rock out.

Atleast that would be cool.

Look at Metallica, Rolling Stones, if Offspring still have their fan base, who knows what the future holds...but they are musicians and it's hard to let go of something they have grown to love over the years. But this is only foreshadowing what is going to happen, until it's set in stone....we can only speculate
