Formatted text is so cool :Dwhy do people only use default?

TheUnholyNightbringer

Because formatting takes time and effort, and quite often makes your posts look garish.

I refuse to spend my time to odd shit like colours & strange letters, when I just want it to be read for it's content, no matter how terribly useless that may be.

besides, like David said, it DOES look a tad gay.

Eccentric Sara formats her posts. I haven't been able to finish an eccentric sara post in a long time, however hers are the prettiest posts around.

I have a short attention span. Anyways, personally I think formatting is a waste of time.

Go paint something with all the colours in the world, keep them out of the BBS.

sorry, don't really like formatting texts.

Nope. Never. Not me.

Always too lazy to do anything of the kind, plus, there's a high chance it will be difficult to read, plus I hate the posts which are difficult to read, so NO.

I'm hyper.

Not really, just select the text and choose font, color & size.
Also, formatting is not necessarily a gayish thing. For example, TripBoy never formats his posts. And he's a stupid gay :D

whats that.. gayish? :o

No, garish. As in ugly.

Jesus, what's with everyone thinking I said gay?

And why the hell is the word "gay" an insult?!

I tell you why.

The original meaning of that word was..um, I guess it's "happy man". But in colloquial English it has become a synonym for "homosexual" , referring to men & women.

Good As You.

the new definition of "gay" was invented by no others than the homosexuals themselves.

If there was a lock function, I might consider it, but if you have to choose it each and every time, its a waste of time if I just want to post.

I never use it, waste of time. I want people to read what I wrote not see the 10 thousand colors I'm able to use in my posts.

Subsidal

Sometimes I do. It's just faster to use the default

The secret to why I'm such a good poster is that I format all of my posts with "" tags.

Sara's posts rock. Anybody else that tries to post with colored text looks like a complete dipshit, though.

Eccentric Sara

Aw,thankyou!!!!!:D I'm just a generally colourful person who likes variety,so I like to use lots of different colours.

Wheelchairman- U said u don't finish reading my posts. Am I using colours that are hard to read ,then? If so,which ones? I will avoid using them! Don't want to stop ppl reading my posts!!!!
I don't think bright colours/variety are a distraction from the content of my posts. Sometimes,it helps,as it makes the posts more conspicuous!!! Its all about presentation.Would you eat food that looked horrible, even if you could be sure it tasted nice?

Strider

I suggest that you use cyan.

It's hardly your fault Sara, I have a short attention span for most topics.

Ah,fair enough then.:) U tend to write quite long posts yourself though.

Why we use default? Because it saves time, especially for the ones who post a lot. They wouldn't bother with formatting. Yes, formatted text looks nice, but it is not so necessary in this case [while posting on a forum, I mean]

And, yes, Eccentric Sara's posts look pretty indeed. =)

Glad my multicoloured posts are appreciated!!!!:D

I would format my posts, but then I end up with shit like this.

Eccentric Sara
11-20-2004, 07:32 PM
My posts would really look like that if I had time to spend half an hour formatting each of my posts!!! lol No-one would be able to read them properly though,so I just keep it to one or two colours.

Goki
11-21-2004, 05:01 AM
Yup, that's better. Reading multi-colored words would be tiring. Plus, dark colors are usually omitted by the dark background and you're not able to read them unless you select them.
