"Now Im like DeNiro
Im amarillo"

Does anyone have any ideas what these references mean? Just wondering.
The bananafish reference earlier in the song is clever, but i just don't get these ones. Any ideas?

But it's capitalized like rob DeNiro.

And the term for money is spelt differently - "dinero".
Good thought though, thanks. :)

Maybe he just wrote deniro instead of dinero to make a rhyme with amarillo... anyway I don't know what's the connection between that rhyme and the rest of the song

He's like falling and shit, and then he becomes amarillo? I never understood what he meant with that :(

well.... he says: "i'm not Deniro ... i'm Amarillo" ...
well you can be yellow without being Deniro XD hehe... that has sense... but....
amarillo is also used to call the CHINEESE....does that have anything to do with the song??

amarillo = yellow (as someone said before)... but is another more archaic word for scared.

Somthing i've learnt.. with offspring lyrics try not to take them at face value especially their older lyrics. Think a little deeper.

I love poetry and liturature so i find this art quite easy.

I always thought it was a reference to the movie casino. In the begining Deniro's car blows up and there is fire everywhere and he is flying through the air

"Dinero" and "DeNiro" are completely different words.

wasn't "bananafish" some sort of reference to jd salinger? he's a classic american author for those of you who don't read.

Well, saying someone's yellow can be like saying they're a coward, but I don't know what that has to do with DeNiro...

Wow, I never thought this was gonna be such a controversial matter, with so many possible interpretations!

Dexter, explain.

Perhaps there's some movie where DeNiro is a coward? I think that's the best bet.

I think one thing is certain:

He got coward when he was already free falling, 'cause he says that he's amarillo and he'll never know when he hits the ground, so maybe it's only missing the connection with DeNiro?
