I think Smash Mouth is a great band. do guys like them?

they are ok. Their first album is the best though. They shouldn't have touched The Monkees' "I'm A Believer", though.

the original of I'm A Believer by The Monkees was better. Smash Mouth shouldn't have touched it.

Smash Mouth are great, I have their self titled album and 'Astro Lounge'. I like the self titled album the most. Allthough 'Come On Come On' is my favorite song.

I like Fush Yu Mang. That's a great album. Astro Lounge was way too different. It was a big change that I wasn't really into. It's alright for them, though. They're still making millions off songs I hate. In the long run, I guess they get the last laugh.

yeah...yeah...yeah...it's good to listen to Walking on the Sun everyone once in a while. when i was 9 i thought it was "Your Eyes Might Be Walkin On the Sun" but then again, I'm so stupid I didn't actually get what "Fruit Loops" meant until two days ago...

they're freakin loops of fruit! i thought it was some funny dumb name..

I am reviving this thread to announce that I officially like these guys again. I am going to get the rest of their albums (I sold all of mine except for Astro Lounge a few years back). They aren't the best, but c'mon, they wrote some damn catchy songs! Anyone agree?

I love Fush Yu Mang and Astro Lounge, both of these disks have some extremely fun and catchy songs. Stoned is by far my favorite song.

I can't really stand any of their albums post Astro Lounge, but i was reading somewhere that their upcoming album is going to sound like their older stuff (according to the band).

Walking on the Sun is an awesome song, but strangely enough I never heard the rest of Fush Yu Mang. About 50% of the stuff on Astro Lounge is quality shit, while the other 50 blows. Everything I've heard after Astro Lounge bites the big one, especially that "Pacific Coast Party" song. I swear to God, if you take away the dude's voice it sounds more like a Jennifer Lopez song than a Smash Mouth song.

And even though Smash Mouth made some catchy tunes in their day, even their most rampant fanboys have to admit that Steve Harwell is perhaps the least talented person ever to make it big in rock. His voice is terrible, he doesn't write their songs, and he can't play guitar or anything.

They had i think two albums before that, indie label.

And I liked astro lounge... but the self titled was just bad. the album after that was unspeakably shitty. They released another album this year that I don't know if I want to bother checking out.

Ah, I like amazon, $0.01 list price for the Session CD and then postage on top from their market place. Now I'll just have to wait till it arrives or till I get to my brothers next week.

I really only remember Allstar off Astro Lounge, most of the album was forgettable. I downloaded the newest one but I haven't had the stomach to listen to it yet.

it's definitely their best album... it's too bad their sound changed :( Padrino is my favorite, too.

I went to the record store today to see if they had FYM there, but unfortunately they didn't. They only had Astro Lounge. Coincidently the guy in the store was a Smash Mouth fan himself, the dude was like 40 or something.

Every Word Means No: Yes! Especially the hook.
Nervous in the Alley: Yes! (more than the one I know)
Beer Goggles: See number 11.
If You Don't: Yes, very much.
Push: OMG, yes (about the same as the one I know).

Dude, that album is great. I was soooo hardcore for them when I was like 10, and I had all their albums, including this one.
Something like that is unbelieveable for a band like them now.

If you really want to hear old Smash mouth, listen to The East Bay Sessions. It's all their early recordings, a lot of punk in there.

I was also hardcore for Smash Mouth from the ages of 8-12.
Had all their albums.
Including East Bay sessions.
Which, looking back now, I'd say is probably the best.
I've recently dug up mt Astro Lounge, and Still have East Bay Sessions, Self Titled, and Fush yu mang buried somewhere in the junk of my garage.
And I would really like to find them :(

double post!!!

I'm listening to summer girl right now. It's waaaaaaayyy better than the self titled. Most bands do sound way better on indie labels than on majors, though. It sounds so much less tryhard, and it has a lot of the elements I really liked about fush yu mang and astro lounge. Just sounds more like a Smash Mouth album and not some manufactured pop.
