Related to the devastating hurricane in New Orleans.

Yes, thats.........interesting. They're amusingly similar. News reporters make me laugh!

I believe nieh is noting the social implications of the black man "looting" the grocery store while the white people "found" food.

definitely...i dont get it how people can treat someone different because of skin colour...

if u were to take a white person and make their skin dark and put them in a racist neigherbourhood...they would be racially attacked..yet if those people knew that that person was white they wudnt have done it
i just dont get it

How the hell do you "find" food in a gorcery store? It's not like it's unnatural for food to be there.

hahahahaha, thats very true!!

This is why racism pisses me off. Tries to come off as so innocent, even incidental, when it's blatant bullshit like in this case.

I say the joke's on the white people. If they found that food then it was floating around in the dirty water. The black guy had the sense to steal fresh food. Who's stupid now?

But yeah, joking aside, that's fucked up.

Makes you wonder if blatant, outspoken racism; or hidden(as in this case) racism is worse. (Threadworthy?)

I'm generally of the opinion that subtle is worse because it slips by pretty much unnoticed most the time. People that are otherwise average, successful, friendly people letting stuff like that slip. It's such a tiny little thing but it's tons of tiny little things like it that help instill the same thought process in other people. Kind of like varying headlines "Black man brutally murders wife" as opposed to "Woman found dead, husband is a suspect" when it's white people. When it's obvious and extreme it's actually easier to write off as some eccentric asshole, but the subtlety of this kind of stuff can actually have some effect on people.

I agree. For me, casual [even unintentional] racism like that just totally kills any liking I have for a person. Though I extend that philosophy to any kind of prejudice, also. It's just such an unattractive quality. And strangely, the blatently racist are more forgivable... you can blame it on a fucked up up-bringing or something (and most of the time be justified in doing so). The casual racist doesn't have that excuse. They're just fuckwits.

it's implying that the white guy legitimately got hold of the goods - not my work, nevermind.

08-31-2005, 07:39 PM
wow, that's ridiculous.

but speaking of looting, check out pic #19:

some people have no fucking shame. they're like OMGZ SHOES!!

Also, if you compare the first two pics, you can see that one is from the associated press and the other is from a different news company. But the main point is still there.

I didn't see any "white people", I saw some filthy mulattoes who also looted a grocery store.

08-31-2005, 09:14 PM
I put this on my LJ, and someone else reposted my exact entry and said "Pfft. So, I guess the media manages to be racist even in the face of deadly catastrophe?"

To which I SHOULD have responded: "Give me a fucking break".

Maybe they were making a witty satirical commentary about the way in which da white man leeches off the work of latino wetbacks?

Or maybe they were just a fucking idiot?

08-31-2005, 09:23 PM
I thought that too, but then again, his past comments lead me to believe that he was totally serious, and the latter was accurate.

Shut up and get back to work, beaner, there is a reason border patrol lets you people 'slip by', and it's called "Minimum Award Wage Laws".

Now mow my lawn, muay mucho pronto! Andeley!
