Someone told me that "Dexter" means "right" in Latin. Is it true?
Anyway... Why is it a nick that often nerd people gets?

It's a nick because of "pointdexter" which means someone who does "study a lot" or how to explain it..

in swedish: plugghäst :D

Yes, from Latin which in turn came from the Greek δεξιος (dexios) meaning right hand side/clever/skilful.

A molecule that shows DEXTROrotation is turning or twisting to the right.
I think it could be why dexter choosed it, since he knows a lot in biology.

doesn't that just back up what I said about it coming from the Greek?

i'd name them bryan or keith...they are dexters birth names...and then my kid could grow up to be like dexter and be valedictorian of their class...have a pilots license...be a rock star...etc.
