Ive noticed how some bands are doing a 10 or 15 or so year anneversary of an album, and they rerelease it with bonus stuff. I was wondering who would buy it, I would if they had rare songs or something on it.

I would rather have them re-release Ixnay though,...

...any thoughts?

Yeah that'd be awesome if they re-released it. They need to take out Ron's drumming and replace it with Atom's though haha.

yeah, it would be cool, but it would depend on what they put on it for the bonuses.

I would buy it for the collection. Hoping it would be good. Even if reviews said that it was bad I would still buy it.

It would be ridiculous and useless. I want a new album not a stupid rerelease.

I don't think it's good idea!
new album!
People will call them sellouts because they will sell the same songs again.
smash,ixnay....etc... are complete albums with good sound quality.....

It's more effective & acceptable with old!! albums which are hard to get.
They could add few songs to "The offspring" instead they took off Kill the president:)
or add "Mission from god" to "Ignition" as a 13th track......

I think it's good idea but only for The offspring and Ignition!

What would be cool is if they went back and rerecorded the songs from their self titled.

no. self titled has bad recording, but its perfect for the kind of songs on it

and no, i would not buy a smash rerelease for any reason other than to round out the collection for the same reason stated above.

that would be great to put in atom's drumming lol! i also agree with the people who said a re-release of ignition would be cool, especially if there were extras on it.

Ignition would be wise to re-release because S/T has already been re-released in 2001 and Ignition has some Single-worthy songs on it.

I'd buy it coz i don't have it yet ( yeah, i'm a dumb, i know ) and it's great...no one of the greatest...no the greatest album ever.

with other re-releases, bands added extra things to warrant fans to buy another copy.

i dont see these guys doing that though. if you look at the greatest hits, and at the video collection, they just went with the bare minimum of material. and expect people to buy it.

ya id definetly buy the smash one. usually when bands rerelease albums its because they get remastered so they are louder and sound better. like bad religion did with suffer no control and against the grain. ixnay wouldnt need that because it was recorded very well already.

They should re-record everything and put on some extra stuff so it feels fresh, but it would be a waste of time so I think they should just put out a new record instead :)

A waste of time ?
They should have do this for the GH.

No way, I hate re-recordings. It ruins the original no matter how much better it sounds.

No, I'm against re-releasing, if they really wanted to mix the songs again, they should have done that at the time they released the GH, in my opinion. Now it's kinda pointless I think

If the band re-released Smash, I'd definitely buy it. I don't know how many other people would, though. That's why I don't think it would be a good idea for them to do it. Even though nobody had a problem with Bad Religion redoing their old albums, The Offspring be asking for more attacks from those who feel they've been sellouts.

Smash was good enough in 1994 to sell millions of albums worldwide. Even among those who call them sellouts, the album is held in high regard. Why should they do anything to mar it?
