^Right, but if had added Weezer, they would've been the only one people had voted for. I tried to keep it equal amongst bands, fame-wise so it would be more along the lines of a fair election.

I only remember one Nada Surf song, but I have to get the album it's on. I think the album is called Let Go or something like that. I think album cover is someone biking over a pool or somthing like that.

I bet the song your thinking of is 'Popular.' It was really their only hit.

yeah, I know the name of the song, but isn't the album called Let Go? My sister used to have it.

'Popular' was in the album High/Low, which has a kid riding a bike on it. Let Go is a different album. Post-fame Nada Surf.

But they are indeed 'nerd-rock.' Take a look at the band Blur. Mos def not nerds. Nerd-rock n roll? Indeed.

ummm.

Are you drunk or something?

Wow, you expect an 6-year old to thrink beer or something even heavier? :p

For serieus, I guess he's one of the dumbest guys on the forums.

An post like this "alll these bands r fucking pussies i could kick all their asses once you fuckine shit head" means he doesn't understand english and can't come up with something original to make us understand his meaning about things instead he pastes some nasty words together in one line.

Hey, if you do another one of these threads, include Cake and The Eels. They both rock.

Be warned: Eels is one of the most kick-ass bands in the world and very dangerous for nerds, nerds for example would suicide themself on the lyrics of eels. Trying to "Climb to the moon".

Pavement, because they kinda remind me of Modest Mouse.

That's not so much "nerd" rock, though. More like "lower middle-class" rock.

I wish I could vote for both Radiohead and Pavement. But I had to go with Radiohead.

Smashing Pumpkins definetly win my vote. Weezer aren't even that good Smashing Pumpkins are much better.

I voted Radiohead, but I wish I could of voted for The Smashing Pumpkins also.

EDIT: Infact, maybe Weezer also.

Clearly, popularity-wise, Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead are not even in the same league as those other bands.

So, to avoid those two, I voted Pavement, cause they were pretty important in their own right, and decent too, although I haven't hard their whole catalogue.

you know, for a genre entitled "mathcore" you'd think more math/science students would enjoy it... but alas, from my experience no.

They'll need to come up with a new genre called "geniuscore" to impress you.

Endymion
10-12-2005, 11:50 PM
no, no, *i* like mathcore, but i haven't found any other math/science doodz that do.

Endymion

usually nothing, but if they do it's generic radio stuff.

Nada Surf. No contest. Weezer's close, but Nada Surf is much better.

The only bands on that list that I know are the Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead, both of which I think are overrated. They have some great songs, but other songs that suck. I have to vote for Smashing Pumpkins, though, because Bullet With Butterfly Wings is one of my favorite songs of all time.
