I like them. I only own the greatest hits album "Thank You" though. I also like Velvet Revolver. Scott Weiland is a good singer.

I can't say if I like them or not because I don't know enough songs by them, if someone could propose me some songs it would be appreciated.

to bd007h : nice avatar :)

I did. They had good songs. It's a shame Weiland is such a screw-up and had to jump on Eddie Vedder's trip.

The only STP song I really like is Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart.

And how is it that Scott Weiland has THREE different voices that sound nothing alike?

Because in order to be successful in the 90's, you had to be able to rip off either Kurt Cobain, Eddie Vedder, or Layne Staley. Scott Weiland just happened to be able to do all 3.

funny but not true

take rage against the machine, red hot chili peppers, and korn for example

all succesful in the 90s, none of em sounded anythin like those three

anyway, i dont think weiland is quite a ripoff voice, i think hes pretty unique but sometimes reminds me of early alice cooper(SOMETIMES). I have Thank You and its a good greatest hits, and im looking into some more STP stuff. Velvet Revolvers by far the best tho

I hear Vedder all over the place and Staley on the slower songs, but Cobain?

On topic, their first two albums were great.

STP are great. The best album they did imo is "Purple" followed closely by "Core". The worst album had to be "Tiny Music..." although it did have some great songs on it. Favourite song is probably Interstate Love Song.

Even though Tumble in the Rough, Big Bang Baby, and Trippin' on a whole in a paper heart are great songs, "Tiny Music..." was complete fucking bullshit.

Core and Purple own, and No. 4 was also pretty horrible. Decent band.

"Naked Sunday" is their best song.

My dad has Purple, but I have yet to listen to it. I only know their radio hits and a few off of Core, but I really like what I've heard.

STP are pretty good, I havent heard a whole lot, and not any one particular album the whole way through, just most of their more popular songs.
They are a good band but ..I dunno, sometimes a little bland for me.
I prefer Velvet Revolver, but thats just me.

I rather like that album, probably more than No. 4.

Yeah, but those are all 3 different genres than STP and the music they try to imitate. Plus the Peppers have been around since the 80s, and they're big even today.

True, but the music the Peppers played in the 80s, the early 90s, and today are all vastly different.

I almost posted my opinion about the band again until I realized I posted in this thread when I was 18 months younger

Yeah, the music DOES change, but even in the 90s, I don't think they were considered "grunge." I also gotta say, I don't think anyone who can mock Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain AND Layne Staley (in my opnion, the greatest singer I've ever heard) is doing a bad thing. Play the hand you were delt, right?

The Stone Temple Pilots are one of my all time favorite bands. I saw Velvet Revolver live last year and they played "Sex Type Thing." It was awesome.
