yeah, they rocked, but JBH is just the same band, different name right?

no... as i was a three piece, and i think dave is the only member from as i in jet black halo. i can't be sure as i haven't done much more than just listen to jbh's mp3s when i can, but i *think* that's right.

The standards for "not-so-well-known" on this forum are pretty damn low.

The Evens
Bear Vs. Shark (http://www.purevolume.com/bearvsshark)
Pelican (http://www.hydrahead.org/hh/thefire/)
HORSE The Band (http://www.purevolume.com/horsetheband)
Vaux (http://www.purevolume.com/vaux)
The New Trust (http://www.purevolume.com/thenewtrust)
Modern Life Is War
The Static Age (http://www.purevolume.com/thestaticage)
Minus The Bear (http://www.purevolume.com/minusthebear)

Man, I'm WAY out of the loop.

i've heard *of* most of those, but the only one i've actually listened to is the last one.

bear vs. shark has been thrown at me a lot too.

knowing that i prefer the faster/louder stuff, what would you recommend break? recently i've been listening to a lot of the locust, the plot to blow up the eiffel tower, an albatross, holy molar, antioch arrow... some arab on radar, ex models, and lightning bolt too.

You'd like Modern Life Is War. Most people compare them to American Nightmare, for whatever reason. I'm iffy on whether you'd enjoy BVS. Most of their songs are midtempo & melodic.
Have you heard the Daughters yet? You'd like them. You should also try to check out the following(if you haven't already): The Number 12 Looks Like You, Angel Hair, Heroin, Circle Takes The Square, Made Out Of Babies, Glass & Ashes, Transistor Transistor, The Letters Organize, and Comeback Kid. I'm not as much into the spazzy/screamy stuff as I used to be, but most of the bands you listed are awesome.

Quoted for emphasis. I totally forgot about HORSE the band. I should get their cd sometime.

yeah, i've been listening to daughters and i like 'em, but not too wild about 'em. been meaning to check out the number 12 looks like you, angel hair, heroin, and transistor transistor, not a big fan of circle takes the square or comeback kid, and i'll check the others out too.
