As You know he is an offical member of Angels and Airwaves (Tom's from Blink 182 band). So does it me he 's gonna leave Offspring?

Atom Willard better not leave, well isn't he recordin the new album with the offspring - so he'll probably be on the next tour with them

09-20-2005, 09:18 AM
What do you think about that new band?

Jesus
09-20-2005, 10:08 AM
Don't see any reason why Atom would leave. Offspring will probably start recording a while after they are back from Japan, release an album mid-2006 which leaves Atom with a lot of free time to do other things.

And they can always hire Josh Freese to do the drums on the album.

Atom would have two side projects, Three bands seems like a bit much don't you think? The Offspring, Angels and Airwaves, and The Special Goodness.

Noodles has a side project? What's it called?

Yeah, he was the first member of the band I saw live and he made me laugh right away because he had the biggest fucking smile on his face when he sat down, and then he started Neocon.

Zee

Hmm, this gets interesting. You can't compare Noodles' side projects, those goes always after the Offspring, and is probably just some jamming with friends. But this Atom's band seems to be huge, and you can't be in two huge bands at the same time. You don't play at Metallica and Rolling Stones. It gets pretty tough to organize schedules with two big bands. Let's see what happens...

Would this be Tom's only band?

Say it isn't so! Atom is too cool, he can't leave Offspring!

Dirty Bertie

This could be my BIG chance - If Atom leaves, I'll audition for the drummer :D

The band I'm in (dirt buckets) already does 2 or 3 Offspring covers so I know the moves... but shit, I dont wanna let the dirt bucket boys down!!! Decisions, decisons..

im alittle curious about this angels and airwaves thing, they seem to be trying to really build it up so im curious to hear what kinda sound they make. and i really highly doubt he will leave the offspring, he seems like a smart person and that would not be a smart thing to do right now. hehe, maybe im just alittle biased though.

He may or may not be a better drummer, But Dave is a better all-around musician, in that he can play all instruments well.

Listen to Probot and QOTSA - Songs For The Deaf, and then make your decision. Josh is an awesome drummer, but Dave is a smidget better.

I'd disagree, but you should make this a poll in General Music instead of stealing this thread.

You know what's odd? Tom Says A&A already have most of their songs done, and Dexter says that he already has A few songs for the next album, AND atoms been touring with the offspring, and practicing with Special Goodness.

He Is One Busy guy. I'm kind of hoping that if he does decide to leave a band he'll leave Special Goodness. They were never all that great anyway, just alright.

its senseless to leave now, its been only 2, 3 years since he joined the band =//

Zee

It's funny how Tom speaks that the band could be the biggest American rock band in few years... right now Offspring's and AaA's schedules are the same, both should release their albums by spring. I guess Angels And Airwaves will tour pretty largely, so what do you think is Atom capable to stay at the Offspring anymore? The guy has changed bands before so what stops him doing it now, I wouldn't wonder nor blame if he would leave, would be rather interesting to get a new drummer once again actually.

why dont you guys just wait untill atom post or its on the website saying that hes quiting. there is nothing offical saying that he will. i hope he doesn't but what are you going to do

vintagepunkrock7
10-04-2005, 09:34 PM
im still not really sure this band is going to be a huge thing, it all seems like some kind of promotion. where does it talk about their tour? the only places i hear about this band are this board and myspace.

People, especially drummers, regularly play in multiple bands at once. See also: Josh Freese. I'm sure something would have been said on Offspring.com if Atom was canning the Offspring. And there's not, so...there we go. Thread closed.
