Well I play the guitar since 2 months by now and i can say I can play it half good. The fact is that you have alternate the hitting of two then one string, etc...
Maybe Dexter said that because it was hard to write an intro which would really fit with the song.

I wouldn't say it was the hardest...I had it down pretty quickly while I was in high school. Did it live with a band once, too.

i think it was hard to invent, they play the intro only with one guitar live but in americana is played with two guitats

Of course he was being sarcastic, just look at his face. The Offspring songs not that hard you know, and he was kinda making a joke of it by saying that.

But Noodles said:

"It's the hardest intro to any song I've ever had to play."

It's pretty obvious that he just continued the joke, to joke you answer a joke. The worst thing to do is take everything seriously and literally what they say in interviews etc...

I don't think he means it is a hard intro to play. He actually means it was a hard intro too write. You know coming up with the different notes making it sound good. And where he can get the inspiration too wright such a good intro etc. It has nothing to do with how well you play it! Cuz it is actually pretty easy to play.

Yes it is - it's ridiculously simple. The hardest part of it is basically getting your finger up to the Eb.

Which is easy. So....

Think "A Thousand Days"...I've tried tabbing it before, but couldn't really get what was going on with it. TKAA is pretty easy...it's kinda like Change the World, how you have to stretch your finger a third fret down. Not too bad though.

If I remember correctly, he said it was the hardest intro he had ever written for the band.

Then again, I haven't watched it in a while, so I might not be remembering correctly. And I don't remember his facial expression either, so I'm not going to say whether or not it's a joke...
