It's not just reverb. I think it's chorus.

The solo sounds fine played without effects IMO.

EDIT: But yeah I think the solo has a bit of chorus.

This is what im playing on smells like teen spirit and it sounds perfect:
Gain: 5
Treble:8
Mid:5
Bass:3
Reverb: Between 2-6

and im playing it on my Lead channel, which is distortion.

I'm pretty sure there's more bass than that during the chorus, though, it's pretty crunchy.

I'm positive there's some chorus in there. Reverb alone doesn't give that type of "wavy" effect to your tone. Reverb just adds ambience.

Yeah, what im playing with though it sounds right though. Dunno.

Reverb is essentially echo-effect. Chorus is essentially an effect that makes it sound like more than one guitar is playing, it gives it an effect like a chorus of guitars are playing at once, hence the name. Treble is higher notes, middle is middle notes, bass is lower ones. That's basically what you need to know.

different guitar + different amp = different settings

If you want but i am pretty sure he is playing through a small clone chorus pedal. (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_id/45963) It is definetly not JUST reverb. That solo is so easy to play though.

^ It's really easy to play, but it's quite fun too.

My amp doesn't have "Bass" on it. Could it have different names on different amps?

It could be called "low" but some beginner amps don't even have eq nobs.

Umm almost every amp should have a bass and treble setting on it. I guess all don't then. I am pretty sure the only words they use for it are Treble, and Bass. What kind of amp do you have?

I always figured low sounded a bit "bassy". Thanks.

What i've known crate for is cheapness. My friend has one and i didn't like it that much. I think i am going to stick with line 6.

I've got a Peavey Bandit 112. I only bought it because it was like 250$ off from the normal price, hence I'd get a better amp for a lower price.

You should look into those new Peavey Vavekings. They're pretty cheap for full tube amps. The 50w 112 combo (http://www.music123.com/Peavey-ValveKing-112-i242783.music) is only $350 while the 100w 212 combo (http://www.music123.com/Peavey-ValveKing-212-i242796.music) is $550.
I haven't tried it yet but they sound good from these samples I found.

Nope, it's not the same. I hear the reverb but that's not the effect. It needs chorus.

No? hmm *walks over to amp* it sounded the fine to me though

Edit: nah you're right actually, the chorus adds alot more depth to it.

Jebus

You played it right but the tone isn't the same because it's missing the chorus. Reveb and chorus are completely different.

OKay chorus and Reverb. Got it (http://savefile.com/files/9241511 )
