Some people have troll accounts that they forget the password to, and some regular users also do the same thing. Or it's a matter of signing up on the spur of the moment and realising they have nothing they wish to contribute to the discussions, so they just keep an eye on things.

The admins should do their jobs and sort it out.

It's not the job of the admins. Stop bumping old threads.

It is the job of the admin, and I have run my own forums and been staff on several others so I know what I'm talking about.

Maybe that's not how they want to run it here. You are not admin here, and don't know exactly what sort of rules they themselves run by.

Yea but unused accounts take up a lot of server space.

What if a person doesn't post and decides to come back eventually? I've done it before.

Administration is at least slightly different everywhere. What applies on your shitty forum, does not necessarily have to apply here.

You can't tell which accounts are unused.

Let's say, They sign up, Then Later, Check Their email and confirm their account, but they don't have the time to post then. They would have Zero Posts, But might want to use their account in the future.

ha, I just remembered what my old username here was, and checked it. the single post I made with it was extremely lame. but it was back when I thought Offspring was the only thing that deserved to be called music.

1). It doesn't hurt anyone for the members not to be deleted.
2). The more members, the more successful a forum looks.

Simply put; there's no reason to delete them.

I think it'd be a tough job for admins or whatever to delete 'em all. I'd say that about 60/70% of the current BBS members don't post here anymore (or have 0 posts).

i think accounts with 0 posts and who's last activity was last year (or 'x' months ago) should be erased.

Haha, now that we have moderators members with 0 posts is our biggest problem. How cute. Anyway, I don't see why we should delete them. They don't have any posts. So?

I get the feeling people are just trying to make up work for the admins. What for?

HornyPope

I'm pretty sure they get automaticly deleted. I registered here a user name as the board opened, and then barely 6 months after someone else was using it.

Then again the fucker who stole that name still hasn't lost it yet, despite not having posted april 2004. So i've no idea how that goes after all.

I really don't see how it's bothersome in any way whatsoever. Yeah, pointless, but 100% irrelevant, since those people only exist if you actually go through the trouble of looking up the Members List.

That's not a tough job ! On the contrary, it's very simple and I'm sure the system exists for the administration. It's just that the admins don't care and they're right.
The more members there are ( even if they don't post ), the more popular the BBS is, which is the most important for a Web site.
