Why do McDonald's need five or more "restaurants" in each city?

to contribute to the obesity epidemic

They're a global franchise. What do you expect - hometown ma and pa stores? Good luck.

They put many restaurants because they can. Simple as that. Personally, I'd like to see 7 Burger Kings in a city.

Many reasons probably.

1. There is probably a market for McDonald's in that area.
2. Saturate the market. So that McDonald's will be it's only competitor.
3. Some guy with a lot of money invests in the franchise and jumps on the money making bandwagon?

My city has like 25. Maybe 30. It's a demographic thing. They want one per certain number of heads.

In the area where I live, you'll find a Mc Donalds every 3-5 minutes or so by car. Seven doesn't seem like that much.

In Kensington there are no fast food chains, in the cities around it there are malls and chains everywhere. All we have in my actual town is three 7-11's, a few gas stations, an ice cream place, and a pizza place. But, even still, I live deep within the suburbs of Kensington, a suburb of Washington DC, so I'm just out of walking distance of everything. Luckily for me, busses come and go pretty frequently.

All cities should have that many. They are great toilet-stops when you are shopping.

yeah but you've gotta buy something cause you need the code which is written on the damn receipt in order to use the toilet! some of the mcdonald's here have this policy! but you can always borrow the receipt from someone inside!

Over here you just have to pay 20 cents or something. But that's not too bad. At least their toilets are clean.

Went to Macca's in Paris once. Very clean (except, I imagine, behind the counter).

OH my god they have codes to get into the bogs? That's so cheap. everyone uses a McDonaldsat some point in their life so they should get toilet facilities.

Pff, quite often McDonalds won't let you use the toilets unless you buy something.

Luckily in Walsall and Birmingham there's KFCs next door and they don't care. Eheh.

But yes, McDonalds are everywhere. And I don't care, I like McDonalds.

At the moment I ain't eating McDonald's cause I was in there last week with my mate and we had a contest to see who could eat the most double cheese burgers before giving up.

I used the toilets in the McDonalds in Birmingham a whole lot when queueing for Hanson, and they didn't mind. At all. It was free too. Everyone went there.

But I guess they knew we would all go get Capuchino's and all our food there later too, so that might be why.
