View Full Version : Have You Ever/Dirty Magic choruses...

When I first listened to Have You Ever, I thought its chorus sounded a lot like Dirty Magic's. It's a lot faster, but if you ignore the "Well I know" part from HYE they really do sound alike...

Someday Ill try again................Pull the shades
and not pretend.......................Razor blades
This time forever......................You're so tragic
Someday Ill get it straight.........I hate you so
but not today..........................But love you more
Have you ever..........................So elastic.....

Did anyone else notice this?

so are u saying if u slow down the chorus to the same pace as dirty magic the song would have an obvious similarity in music and the way it sounds overall?

I've noticed that too, back when I first heard Dirty Magic (I heard have you ever first)

The same thing goes with the guitar for Dammit I Changed Again and Amazed. Same thing, but different speed.

all i want and conspiracy of one are very similar too, as with vultures and dirty magic riffs. they do use the same chord patterns for alot of diff songs but then that happens bcuz there are only so many frets n chords on a guitar!
but who cares, as long as they keep making kick ass tunes :D

The same thing goes with the guitar for Dammit I Changed Again and Amazed. Same thing, but different speed.

The chords of Dammit I Changed Again follow the classic scheme VIm IV I V (in this case, Fm C# G# D#). It is definitely different than that of Amazed: I VII IV III (A G D C, with some variations in the chorus).
