i can say in complete honesty that we talked about bras all day. manipulated bras, handled bras... played with bras.... removed bras... calculated the hermitian conjugate of bras...

kets too.

There's really a "Talk nerdy to me" T-shirt? Oh man, I don't care if I buy it or not, I just want to know if it exists.

I was gonna ask about ket's till you mentioned them. How dorky is it that physicists came up with "bra" and "ket"...

just so no one gets the wrong idea--i've been using dirac notation all semester and i'd used it previously in my electrodynamics class of all places. i just never felt like pointing out how i use bras all the time before.

is HAMMER an operator that acts to the left and squares the first term?

Fuck all of you physicists and the rest of you Science folk...!

You little bastards are at the top of the dork hierarchy, because Science geeks have always been the most widely accepted geeks in society. You bastards have mass, commercial appeal.

English and Social Science geeks like myself, we're the TRUE geeks. We don't need no stinkin' fame or a stereotypical, obscure knowledge of the Periodic Table.

Assholes.

ricky, baby, i'm a computer geek too. in particular theoretical computer science, which includes the study of formal grammars...

COMPUTER SCIENCE?! That's easily portrayed as the coolest of all dorky interests! Hackers, anyone?

*slams desk* Sh-sh-sh-shut...you...good for nothing...making a mockery out of my very existence you are! THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!! *chokes on your formal grammars*

Psht. Come talk to me when you've got a bottle of red wine and you're going around addressing everyone in Dostoyevsky-esque dialogue.

I've got Wilkie Collins on my nighstand right now. Fuck yeah, Victorian Era.
