I've finally got some decent web access again and I'm almost completely out of touch with all things internet-related.

What music download programs do you guys find useful?

And while we're at it name a good song or two to download (if you say offspring I may just have to dream up creative ways to kill you.)

Cheers

Nicky, I'm fairly certain nobody would recommend you Offspring in General Chat any more. If so, it would be only a small minority. We're not the Fan Corner we used to be.

I'm using BearShare. You find almost everything on there but the shit thing is it totally slows down your browsers.

As for songs, get 'Hope' by Apocalyptica and 'Dark Night' by the Blasters.

I use Soulseek and once every so often I'll still use Kazaa Lite. Soulseek is great but isn't always the fastest thing out there.

Some songs:

The Dismemberment Plan - The Other Side
Minus the Bear - Hooray
Mr. Bungle - Carry Stress in the Jaw
Guster - Airport Song
Tomahawk - Rape this Day

That's all that's coming to mind at the moment.

I use Limewire. It's better then WinMX, what I used to use. As for songs, I don't know what kind of music you like, so I can't recommend anything.

I find all my videos, music, and files through Limewire. It's great. Get some stuff by The Police, "Black Jesus" by Everlast, and some Joe Jackson stuff too.

Hm. Well, one time, I was looking for a music video and I didn't get the video I wanted. Instead I got "I should have had a better cam when I got my 13-year-old daughter drunk and...". I didn't even bother looking at the rest of the title because I could pretty much guess it.

ANYWAY. I'm really into Rancid at the moment, so...

Rancid - Bloodclot
Rancid - 1998
Rancid - Leicester Square
Rancid - Hooligans
Rancid - Time Bomb
Rancid - Nihilism
Rancid - Salvation
Rancid - The Ballad Of Jimmy And Johnny

I never used any of those programs. I've always used E-Mule, and always found whatever I was looking for. Songs, entire albums, videos, videogames etc etc etc

By the way, there are music groups like Sun Eats Hours for instance that you can't find anywhere else besides E-mule. I recommend a few songs from them - Rustles, Spain, La Mangiauomini. They play melodic hardcore, actually one of the bast bands I've ever known who plays that genre of music.

Thanks guys, I'm enjoying what I've downloaded so far.

Keep the recommendations coming. I need to get out of the rut that is my cd collection, despite it being good.

You definitely should download some AFI. Especially Girls not grey and the leaving song part 2

Try Sepultura's Itsari, that song has changed my life. If you want the whole album download Roots.

I tried Ares a while ago, but nothing would work for me. Maybe it just hates me personally.

Anyway. I have a few more songs to add to my list if you liked the previous suggestions.

Misfits - Where Eagles Dare
Misfits - Last Caress
Misfits - Hollywood Babylon
Dead Kennedys - MTV Get Off The Air
Dead Kennedys - Let's Lynch The Lanlord
Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia
