View Full Version : Give feedback to the moderators

Every succesful company want to have a feedback of their job - in a negative and positive way. That's why this is your place to speak.

Bad Mods:
Mota Boy - Acting like a nazi leader, abusing his power. As far as I know their job was only to delete spam and pornographic images. Well, this guy seems to lock and delete whatever the hell he wants to, probably this one too. I don't like his attitude, it's like he chooses what to speak here.

Good Mods:
The_Goddess: Mostly because I haven't see her doing anything, and that's a good line. Keep it real!

It's Mota who is usually most reluctant to really use his mod powers in any way other than taking care of spam and redundancy.

Every good company has a tendency to offer complaint boxes, but what every good company does, is ignore them. The complaint box exists only so that the consumer thinks they posess some sort of influence in the market or on company policy.

Coolguy, you should've done this by PM.

What WCM said doesn't represent the opinions of all mods. I personally welcome positive AND negative feedback. That does, however, mean that I will use my own consideration whether I will take people's opinions in count in the future. If the feedback is constructive and rational, I probably will.

Oh and who closes, deletes and aborts all the threads in Politics? I got the coathanger in my hands, bitch.

Politics should be policed more stringent than others. But obvious inflammatory threads aren't closed when they are clealry baiting. Under the new established rules that HornyPope posted, it is a breach.

1) The appropriate venue for specific complaints against mods is through a personal message.

2) Spam and porn are appropriate guidelines for General Chat, but this forum is not a general purpose forum for chatting about random topics - this is a forum specifically dedicated to discussion of the Offspring website. I close/move/delete posts/threads that are in the wrong forum, that are redundant and that devolve into a conversation or flame war without any relevant discussion.

Such is the case with NDR - a troll account that only attacked mods and rallied two other people to some ridiculous little "club" he started. The thread quickly devolved into a flame war, as this likely will too. I'm all for intelligent discussion for the limits of moderator powers, but general statements such as "Mota Boy is a nazi" "1565 is a bad mod" and "the mods suck" don't further discussion so much as troll for a reaction. I've said all of this before.

Your post made multiple generalizations without bothering to back any of them up. You're not bothering to start an intelligent discussion (not that that's necessarily your fault, intelligent discussion may very well be beyond your reach) as much as start a thread for people to bitch about specific moderators, in part because you "don't like [my] attitude", which is about as insulting as hearing that Hitler doesn't like my morals.

Holy shit, I missed the part when Mota got to be so serious. What's up, pumpkin?

And to the rest of you, you can't really know which of the mods shut down/deleted/aborted a particular thread, nor do you know how do the mods between them agree on issues and propose ways to deal with it. So any one's judgement is really far from complete.

Pshaw, there's always been a method to my madness, darlin'.

" TRUE! --nervous --very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am mad? The disease had sharpened my senses --not destroyed --not dulled them. Above all was the sense of hearing acute. I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. How, then, am I mad? "

Now now HAU,don't be a bitchcock. Yes I just invented that. Mota Boy is not a Nazi and Goddess has feelings for noone, but she knows well and as much as she hates me I have respect for her. If you feedback the mods feedback at all of them not just 2.

I fully agree with Sanni & also with Vlad that anyone's opinion about a certain moderator is incomplete.

Sorry to bump the thread, but I think if we did have a Feedback thread or forum for Moderator evaulation of some sort, it COULD be helpful overall...might give the users a sense that we're listening. But yeah, too many idiots like HeadAroundU would ruin it and it wouldn't work.

I have had absolutely no problem with anything the moderators have done so far. That's just my two cents, and possibly that's not really adding anything, but I feel that they get a lot of undeserved negative feedback.

I find no mods to be worse than any others. Were people like Justin (much as I enjoy his nonracist posts most of the time) mods, I would possibly find something to complain about, but I find that the existing mods use the principle of reflexivity to a very admirable extent.

PS - for anyone who's not into anthropology, reflexivity is a principle where someone evaluates their own biases towards a person or group and factors those into their judgement of somebody.

Sixteen people, sixteen opinions. It's about reaching a conclusion together and the mod forum is being helpful.
