Uh buh huh, whine whine,.

I'm almost finished with a painting I've been painting on for aaaages. But I just can't get it exactly right to the last detail. I haaate it. I keep screwing up and it just looks worse with every brushstroke I take. And it makes me maaad. I feel like ripping it apart <3

And slit my wrists, fuckyes!

I'll post a picture of it later today. Hmyes.I'll finish it tomorrow. I can't stand looking on it anymore. I need to just relax with something less "challenging". Uh huh. Painting sucks. I will probably start drawing my feeeelings soon, hah.

maybe it helps to take somewhat of a distance from it for a little while. just look at it from a few meters away, or let it rest a day without thinking about it.. it sometimes helped for me. then I'd start again (or well.. continue) with either fresh ideas, or a clear mind.

& please DO post pictures.

oh man, that's fabulous. you especially did an amazing job on the hands. hands are absolute hell to draw/paint.

Heh, the hands are the ones who are frustrating. Especially the left one. Gaaah! I keep fucking it up. I like the right one, but I just can't get that left one right. Theres no details on it, it's just a blur. But I wont bother with that right now..

Anyways, thank you guys. You're really nice.

I think the hands are perfect. I think the only thing that could stand a little more definition would be the face. Everything else looks so photo-perfect that the face seems a little out of place. Man, that's gorgeous as a whole!!

although I see not much wrong with it, I know your pain. hands are the ultimate challenge to draw. I stopped drawing when I was 11, or something, & my last painting was one of two hands shoving rings on each other's ringfinger. I made it for my drawing teacher who was getting married. =) either way, that just took the cake. I'm too impatient & precise for it. if I make something, it has to look the exact way I want it to look, or else I'll rip it apart. the drawing looked alright & overal it was pretty nice (she still has it in her hallway <3), but it took me so much time & frustration, I decided I'd stop right there & gave up drawing lessons.

1565 -I kind of like the contrast of precise & abstract, when it comes to the face.

I think it's very very nice.

take a break for few days, then correct few details....and work of art is done!

Wow. The hands are perfect, I agree. I always thought drawing/painting people was the worst hell. I'm amazed.

Constructive? You haven't even seen the painting.

It's a very, very good painting.

But methinks this thread was just an excuse to "modestly" introduce this painting and get compliments. There's nothing wrong with posting artwork like this in hopes of compliments, because this painting deserves them. No need to act all insecure about it though.

Knowing the chicka a tiny bit, I don't think this is the case really. She's very self-critical, yet brilliant at what she does.

I like the hair... I guess hair is generally pretty easy to do... but it's fun to have it turn out looking good. I agree with Bella about the face too... adds a good touch.

What other parts of the painting bother or were bothering you, I'm curious?
