I'm glad you like it too, AAE! It's an awesome album. Most people who don't like it are pussies who are scared of ruining their indie-cred by liking a more pop style major label album from their beloved former indie-punks. All those people can lick my left nut and choke on my right one, the fuckin' cowards.

The vocals and melodies are fantastic throughout the whole album, and just as a whole it's crafted wonderfully. Definately their most mature sounding and complex album.

About STS: I enjoyed it a lot for the first while I had it, then realized that I wasn't as depressed as the lyrics were making me feel, then recently pulled it back out again to be delightfully suprised. It's an enjoyable album, the lyrics are just a tad bit more depressing than any of their other stuff.

Woah, I thought I was the only one who liked that album.
I LOVE Sing the Sorrow. I'm usually pretty tolerant of people's music taste, but I really have a hard time respecting people that claim AFI's older punk stuff, which is some of the least cerebral music you could find, is SOOOOOO much better than this "sell-out goth bullshit" known as Sing the Sorrow, when really it's a very intelligent album. Tons of hard work must of been put into making it.

Exactly. I like their old stuff as much as the next guy, it just gets boring because there's hardly any melody or interesting lyrics once you get past "oh haha I didn't know you could make a song out of that."

You're not. I think Sing The Sorrow is AFI's best yet.

Anyway, I can't really think of 5 albums that I like the best that came out this year but I really liked Darkest Hour - Undoing Ruin and The Unseen - State Of Discontent.

In no real order, I don't know if I can make it to 10:

1.) Garbage- Bleed Like Me.

Easily the best album they've made yet. Very guitar driven, which for Garbage, is different.

2.) Ben Folds- Songs For Silverman

Yeah, most of the people here won't like it because you guys have a horrible "OMGZ IF IT DOESN'T HAE LOUD GUITARS IT SUX!!!! I LUV KORN!!!" mentality, but for the few of you that know good musical talent, I suggest this album for you guys. Nothing special, just a really good pop album.

3.) Foo Fighters- In Your Honor

I loved it when I first got it, but it got kind of old. Still a decent album though.

4.) Weezer- Make Believe

Ok, it's probably their 2nd worst album, but it's still better than mostly anything else that's come out this year.

5.) the Epoxies- Stop the Future.

Amazing, fun, and good.

6.) 7Seconds - Take It Back, Take It On, Take It Over

Awesome simply because it's 7Seconds, and they > you.

7.) Alkaline Trio- Crimson

So-so, but like the Weezer one, still better than most of the other shit that came out this year.

8.) Bruce Springsteen- Devils and Dust.

Incredible album from a music legend. Again, I know no one will like it because he's "lol old" and there's not "OMG LOUD GUITARS!!!!!!!!!11one", but it's a great album.
