The Ocean's not teal.

The reason why i get up is 'cause i have to.

"How do you know when your in love?" Wait, what?

And the hockey one didn't rhyme.

3 of them were published. The hockey one wasn't. I wrote that for my sister, and it sucked.

In 8th grade I won a $50 dollar scholarship thing for being one of the top 10 poems in my age group (8th - 10th I believe). Easiest assignment ever; I had wrote it in sixth grade for something else. I've never really done it for fun though.

In 8th grade i also won a contest, in 3rd place, that you had to write an essay about the soldiers.

In 8th grade, I won $100 savings bond for writing some essay about something. I got a plaque and everything.

Nimrod In Town']PUBLISHED ?!

To what?!

some huge hardbound books that cost a ton of money. We bought one, and it was not worth $50, but it was cool to see my name and poem in print.

Tiphani, honestly - your poems don't have anything really special.

You might want to work on bigger imagery and slightly less literal concepts - that usually makes for a more interesting poem, and a lot more freedom in the writing and imagery.

Hahaha! I put something up on Poetry.com when I was like a sophomore in high school. As of a couple weeks ago, it's still up there. I'm never going to let anyone read it, it's so pathetic. I know some people here read it way way back when I first wrote it, but I'm not refreshing anyone's memories.

Thank you for being the first one to actually critique my poems. Your advice will be duly noted.

I don't let anyone read my poetry (Sim being a notable exception). Not until it's published anyway. Though then they have to buy the anthology it's in, because damnit, it'd be too expensive to buy copies of everything you're published in yourself. Not when you're a bum like me, at least.

50 bucks for a book isn't bad at all.

i'll get back to you about the poems.
