...on music.

Now, recomend me something that you like.
And please explain what type of music you're talking about...

Please think before you post, don't tell me to listen to the Ramones, unless you're talking of something particular...

Right now I'm in the mood for 80s new wave... I doubt anyone here would admit to liking it even if they did... but still.

If you like rock music, I would suggest Condition K, a band that comes from the Harrisburg, PA area. You can listen to some of their songs on http://www.purevolume.com/conditionk, http://www.conditionk.com or http://www.myspace.com/conditionk . If you don't like rock music, there is always mainstream hip hop. Pretty Ricky is pretty good.

there's nothing quite like a bit of Death On Wednesday (check out the song Who Sold The Soul)

I would also recommend Mclusky - No Fool In Ferguson, that song especially; also, Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues kicks ass also.

As for 80s New Wave, I'm sorry Katelyn I don't know of any bands in that genre... In fact, I didn't know there were any bands around now that are of that sound :o

DirtyMagical

I don't care how recent the bands are... in fact I'd probably apreciate older music better.

DirtyMagical

hahah, I love the beach boys, I think I'll actually get more by them...
They really make me think of Full House.=)
And Beatles... see Beatles are great but I'm afraid somebody completely destroyed any chance I might be able to listen to them... actually no, I'm gonna download some more anyways, Back in the USSR!

I'd say Third Eye Blind, but you probably already hate them or something. Personally they are one of my favorites.

DirtyMagical

I don't hate them, but I'm also not sure, so I might give them a try...

Yeah, I'm a big ska person actually... And I already know all the bands that you've mentioned.. and I saw big d and the kids table on numerous occasions.. and thought they were pretty local... hm, so i was completely off then..

Just for the record: Sublime is my favorite band ever.

heeee-heeee-heee...

It's ussually cross dressing synth-happy flamboyant males singing happy dance music... and and... Pet Shop Boys is a great example...

So as you can see, lots of things.

Lately, I've been getting into this English progressive rock band(nothing like Dream Theater). I'm not sure how to discribe it but it's very tasteful. Listen to to For Chords that Made a Million (http://s17.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3RUDUCFMB8MBL2317UJON6R4ML) and Lightbulb Sun (http://s12.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2J54IJJDQQ4P03DIM34U7LL4LZ)

Then there's something completely different from Porcupine Tree. I think they're described as psychedelic progressive fusion. Listen to Coily (http://s11.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0U0CJ9JPC1TR82JMSB5JY8ZNCV)

I suck at genre names.

ummm I guess Styx sort of fits. Mr. Robotto is a classic.

and because my tastes are so good, I'll recommend music you didn't particularly requestion:

Lately, I've listen to a lot of Belle and Sebastian, they aren't particularly unknown so you probably know them, some particularly good songs would be, Dirty Dream Number Two, The Wrong Girl, Dear Catastrophe Waitress, and Step Into My Office, Baby.

Another good band is Mew, songs like Special, or The Zookeeper's Boy.

And a band that is distinctly Danish, Johnny Deluxe, with songs like Elskovspony, Lille Hypokonder, Luxusliv.

This all reminds me of how much music I just lost. Goddamn computer. :(

I was going to say Belle and Sebastian! Check them out if you don't already know them.

I actually have no idea what you like (I don't know much about new wave and ska), but anyway if you don't know The Dandy Warhols, download some of their songs. You probably know them though =/

The New Pornographers

Stars (http://www.offspring.com/forums/showthread.php?p=670887#post670887) (I uploaded 4 songs)

I can't think of anything else at the moment. I might add some bands later.

The other bands forum, what a truly great forum.

God Lives Underwater was good, they were 90s industrial rock/techno. The lead singer died in October though :( . I made a thread about them uploading an album and EP here:

I'm listening to Pepper... First it sounded exactly like Sublime, then I realized it's a cover of "you spin me right round"... haha I like them...

Echo and the bunnymen turned out awesome...
and so did all the other ones I downloaded..

Unfortunately though, I got new speakers... and they are SO bad... I can't really hear much and it sounds as if the speakers are on low volume in a room with bathroom acoustics...

I really can't hear all that much detail... sad eh?
But so far, so good... Devo has some fucked up shit apparantly...
thanks to everyone that contributed =)
