View Full Version : Recommend Me Music

wheelchairman

Yes this is the thread where you must recommend me music!

And also sort of trick. I want you to upload it for me as well. I'm open to everything. And I'm uploading the songs from my topic of about a week ago, so no need for cross referencing.

I just made a new-topic, because I am the ever-born marketeer, and am in the midst of re-branding, since the last product failed.

So yeah, I've finished rebooting. My computer is completely naked. I've lost so much porn/music/pictures, it sucks.

Tizz is coming in a few days to take care of my lack of porn and pictures (lolz.) And she's bringing me a lot of the music I lost. But I need you people to help with expanding my tastes!

Ignore that. Upload music! I'll download anything! (so slutty)

This program is amazing, you can find there whatever you want, including porn/music/pictures, but you need to have stuff to share, or you won't be allowed in any server. 1 GB of shared material should be enough, for starters... I highly recommend e-mule.

Ivan Kebroff is pretty good. His chorus is very familiar to a danish drinking song. Which goes for example "Kan Simona, Kan Simona, Kan Simona drikke ĝl, Kan Simona Kan Simona Kan Simona drikke ĝl" and obviously gets faster and faster. :p

For better or for worse, I've been listening to them for a while so I can easily differentiate songs. So I can't quite say "yeah I know what you mean." But I guess I can tell you it stops being like that after a while? I dunno. There are a lot of bands that I have to listen to for a while before songs start sounding like different songs.

Jebus

Give Saxon Shore a try. Even though it's an instrumental band, there's no soloing. The music is very relaxing with some neat melodies. It's a bit repetative but that's what makes it so great because it gives your head more time to really "understand" it and enjoy it. You'll either find these boring or like them.
Saxon Shore - Marked with the Knowleged (http://s18.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=220MGMYYDWC861T8D039NLG4BE)
Saxon Shore - The Last Days of a Tragic Allegory (http://s17.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2S69I8GB57XH81DAJPAUP9XK1S)

EDIT: oh yeah, and it's not metal instrumentals if that's what you're thinking.

oh man, the black keys are awesome, listening now :D

JoY

would you like a mix between soul & dance? the genre has a rather fucking stupid name, but it can be rather pleasurable. it's happy music (with a positive feel) for in the background only. it's like lounge, but more active. it makes you move more. it's basically the combination of sax/trumpets/anything that can create an actual melody & a good beat. just give it a chance. example: DJ Roog - Calabria (http://rapidshare.de/files/9378470/Dj_Roog_-_Calabria__1_.mp3.html)
another example, cuz i <3 u (http://rapidshare.de/files/9378691/DJ_Roog_-_Burning_Up.mp3.html)

you -have- seen Amelie, haven't you? I can't imagine you haven't, because I strongly believe I was the last creature on planet Earth to ever see it. either way, the music to Amelie should make anyone smile silly. I could upload some of that too, if you want. what the hell am I saying? I'll just upload some, in case you don't already have it/don't thoroughly hate it (which I can't imagine).
Amelie Poulain (http://rapidshare.de/files/9378869/Am_lie_Poulain_Theme.mp3.html)
l'Autre Valse d'Amelie (http://rapidshare.de/files/9378939/Amelie_-_L_autre_Valse_Amelie.mp3.html)
Yann Tiersen - Amelie Theme (tears, I tell you) (http://rapidshare.de/files/9379026/Amelie_-_Yann_Tiersen_-_Amelie_poulain.mp3.html)

have you tried the flavour of Chicks on Speed? you must have. it's old+. it probably entirely isn't your thing, but it could still make you giggle. I'll upload one. any more would probably be overdoing it.
Chicks on Speed - Euro Trash Girl (http://rapidshare.de/files/9379136/Chicks_on_speed_-_Euro_Trash_Girl.mp3.html)

Dutch rap:
DAC - Doorhalen (http://rapidshare.de/files/9378232/dac-doorhalen.mp3.html)
I'm so, SO sorry. I just couldn't resist.

now, as I promised; K's Choice. (the most interesting part of this post)
K's Choice - All (http://rapidshare.de/files/9379288/K_s_Choice_-_All.mp3.html)
K's Choice - Believe (http://rapidshare.de/files/9379477/K_s_Choice_-_Believe.mp3.html)
one to make you laugh, or at least smile (notice the lyrics): K's Choice - Breakfast (http://rapidshare.de/files/9379542/K_s_Choice_-_Breakfast.mp3.html)
K's Choice - Everything for Free (http://rapidshare.de/files/9379920/K_s_Choice_-_Everything_for_free.mpg.html)
guaranteed tears; K's Choice - Winter, live acoustic (http://rapidshare.de/files/9380013/K_s_Choice_-_Winter__Live_Acoustic_.mp3.html)
something else by them; K's Choice - Tired (http://rapidshare.de/files/9380221/k_s_choise_-_Tired.mp3.html)
goth kids will never be misunderstood again; K's Choice - What the Hell is Love (http://rapidshare.de/files/9380387/ks_choice_-_what_the_hell_is_love.mp3.html)

Racoon! *bouncebounce*
new song. don't like it as much as the old weird coocoo stuff. Racoon - Couple of Guys (http://rapidshare.de/files/9380637/Racoon_-_Couple_Of_Guys.mp3.html)
Racoon - Feel like Flying (http://rapidshare.de/files/9380725/racoon_-_feel_like_flying__1_.mp3.html) <- old, old, old, love, love, love. the thing is.. it was their first hit & I thought it'd be their only one, till this one came up about five years later:
Racoon - Love you More (http://rapidshare.de/files/9381073/Racoon-love_you_more.mp3.html)
these are the few songs (& some more) I managed to download from them. of course I've got their cd's, but on the internet.. this is about as good as it gets. hmm, sad.

at least you have something to choose from. you don't have to download it all (obviously), that's why I added the discriptions. I would've uploaded more K's Choice & Racoon, but that'd just be a bad case of overload. just clicky-clicky what could possibly interest you. there's more I'd want to tell you about, but I'm rather sure you've already heard. Dream Theater - Dance of Eternity, Fiona Apple - Paper Bag, Jeff Buckley, Lacuna Coil - Falling (their only song I like, I discovered), Radioheadgoodstuff<3, Sade, the Verve....

BATWT, I just love love love the Dropkick Murphies. Always have, always will. The D4 was good as well as Frenzal Bomb, I liked them a lot. I think Frenzal bomb reminded me of NOFX. RX Bandits, Reuben and Beatholics were all great.

Killer Queen, how does such a young girl like you get such scandinavian tastes like ABBA? If you like their version of Mamma Mia, then you should listen to Kim Larsen's original danish version. I think it's just called Mama Mia although I don't know.

uh huh. raping ABBA is like those fake Mars bars. quite alright substitute in the beginning, but easily nausiating after you've had too much. it ruins the original & I hatehatehate the way that works. that in the end I can't listen to ABBA without associating it with fooking *@*$@ Madonna. not that I don't like Madonna, but grah.

Per, I'm glad you enjoyed for the most part.

In the future if you're thinking of albums to download or whatever, I will say that "Chutes Too Narrow" and "Oh Inverted World" by the Shins are very enjoyable. I think I like the first one more, but that's probably just personal preference. Also, all three Weakerthans albums are excellent, but I would recommend the most recent "Reconstruction Site" first. It is one of the most "listenable" albums I have ever heard. Happy and soothing all at the same time. Also, their lyrics are very good. I'm usually not TOO big on lyrics, but these particularly stand out. For example, lines like "How I don't know what I should do with my hands when I talk to you. How you don't know where you should look, so you look at my hands." are just nice. I won't go on though, although I could easily. But really, I think you'd like it.

I've downloaded more Belle and Sebastian and I will probably buy something of theirs when I get home. I'm enjoying.

They play on the main stage at the big day out. They host breakfast radio. Just about everyone in Australia associated with alternative music knows frenzal rhomb. My friends and I "discovered them" on an indie 2000 cd when we were 12. I don't think they're underground by any means.

hellcat is a division of epitaph. but yeah, being on epitaph is probably worse than being on fat wreck... but epitaph doesn't have the whole "we're all pop-punk bands who take our being punk way too seriously" vibe, they've got the "we're so bad-ass it hurts. where's my mommy?" thing going on.
