apples, apples have been known to wake people up more effectively than coffee, so i assume they'd have the same reaction at keeping you awake?

sugary things also work well

drinks such as red bull

caffeine supplements like pro-plus

frequent cold face washes

loud music/television

bright lights

and yes, cocaine/speed would work

its one fine day

Greatest drink ever:

1. Buy one of those Tang powder keg-things.
2. Fill a 1-liter Nalgene bottle up as much as you want, but don't fill it up all the way unless you're in the mood for a heart attack.
3. Pour as much of the tang as you can physically consume into the water, preferably 2/3 of the container, more if you really need to wake up.
4. Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!

Being a boy scout for 4 years really helps you with this shit. lolz mike = ghey

Loud music? No, I can't study with music.

And no drinks please. My stomach became very sensitive these days.

Okay, here goes.

Generally take at least 10-15 minutes' breaks after each hour of studying. A good break means doing some exercise, playing some music or just breathing some fresh air. It might sound stupid but I studied psychology of learning and teaching so there you go. Also, you should go outside for at least half an hour to reset your mind a little. Studying non-stop would make you tired after just a few hours and then you can just forget it because your concentration span is dead by then.

When you study, change positions a lot. Never study on the bed in the evening, you know how that ends. Sit, walk around, speak, draw schemes to remember things. Constantly change activities to keep your brain active. Generally adviceable to take a short break after each chapter.

I love you.

Another effective method is to hire someone for several dollars to stand by your side and punch you in the face every time you nod off.

Snacking on things when you're getting sleepy is a good way to not give in.

It really depends why you want to stay up. I can stay up for great lengths of time doing certain activities. I can stay awake staring at my computer monitor forever. However, if I try reading or watching TV, I'll fall asleep right away. Going outside is a good way to wake up too.

oo ooo ooooo! no!

there's something you can buy which is a necklace with a special thing attached to it that whenever something touches it it makes a loud claxon sound. so: if your head drops, you push on the pendant and BLAMMO! you're one awake chappy

I think I'd personally rely on adrenal stimulants.

I don't need to hire someone, my dear mother does it.
Thanks a lot for the advice Sim. I didn't know that changing positions thing. It works.

You're welcome. =) It should work, keeps your body and mind active. If you were just sitting all the time, you'd lose concentration pretty soon.

Meth is both the most effective and most enjoyable way.
