What the fuck? Did people have this conversation on here before? I've got the weirdest sense of deja vu.

This continues to unsettle me. I almost want to say it was in a dream.

Wasn't it Seger the man behind the song? But yeah, I loooove Thin Lizzy dude. Out in the fields, parisienne walkways, boys are back in town, jailbreak, and some other shit. that rocks man.

This song is old as hell, the Dubliners did a version too. It's an Irish folk song.

The Dubliners do the best version.

I can't remeber this being discussed.

And I've never heard The Dubliners version. I think I knew it was an Irish folk song though.

I think that's fairly obvious. But neither are Thin Lizzy, and their version's good, if a little scary.

Wasn't it Seger the man behind the song?
No. Metallica covered Whiskey in the Jar and Seger's Turn the Page on the same album.
Despite being nothing but covers it was still better than St. Anger.

I was under the impression that Seger was the first to release this song. Now I double checked and looks like indeed it belongs to Thin Lizzy. That's totaly fine with me. I think Thin Lizzy rocks.
