No idea what it is, I have to admit.

It's one of those shows that was totally mediocre, but when you watch it again with a slightly more open mind, you realize that you it is fucking brilliant and you were an idiot for ever doubting that.

Well, that's what it is if you're me, anyway.

According to jumptheshark.com, a poll found that #1 reason for jumping was when Phil Hartman died. As a side note, the 2nd on that list was of the opinion that the show never jumped.

arrested development is the newsradio of the 00's, but without the brilliance that was phil hartman.

did they actually have a new episode of AD on last night or was that my imagination? i heard saw a few commercials for it, figured it was nothing since they supposedly cancelled the show..so wtf is up :|

Endymion

it hasn't been officially cancelled yet, and yes there was. i think they have a few more episodes they're going to air too.

it looks like ABC will pick it up when/if it's cancelled by fox.

Kudos to AD for that.

I know *why* it jumped the shark (I mean hell, can anything be the same without Phil Hartman? I even miss his slimy characters on the Simpsons) but I was wondering when he died and was it season 4 that they made without him.

Endymion

he died between seasons four and five. they went on and did season five without him and brought in his friend jon lovitz to partially fill the void. they knew there wasn't going to be a season six going in, but they'd already been given the go for season five so they just did it.

I'm not a complete n00b. Seen th Lovitz episodes. Some of them, anyway.

Actually, I remember there being quite a bit of speculation as to what season six would've been like, since at the end of season five all of the characters except Dave & Matthew left WNYX to go to New Hampshire with Mr. James. It's true that the future of the show was very uncertain at the end of season five, but that was true for the end of every season (which was why they did those "Space" & "Titanic" episodes where every character dies). I really don't think they went into season five knowing full well it was going to be their last season.

BUMP, BUMP the jam, BUMP it up.

What's everybody's favorite season 3 episodes? Mine are Daydream, Complaint Box, Rap, Sleeping, Led Zeppelin Boxed Set, Kids and Rose Bowl, in that order.

Favorite season of Newsradio? Mine's season 4.

Where were you when you found out Phil Hartman was dead? I think I was in Spanish class.

Did you watch Newsradio during its original run on NBC, scrambling frantically to keep up with the ever-shifting time slot every week? No? I did. Boy, do you suck.

Question to UK inhabitants: does any tv station over here show Newsradio? I'm really curious to watch it now

Paramount Comedy used to show it in the early hours. You missed out by about 3 months.
