Does anybody know how to delete all the songs on an iPod in one go?

you could do a master reset...

i think you hold down the menu button and then 'toggle' the hold slide

but I'm not sure so read the instruction booklet..it says it in it

I don't remember how, but I give you an advice. Before you ask a question about your iPod, read the damn intruction booklet.

Which iPod do you have?

Mine never came with one, I got the nano and all that was in the box was a quick start guide and a iTunes disk.

that would just reset it.

Just connect it to the computer. highlight all the songs on the nano (ctrl a) and delete. Simple....

Or if you're still stupmed, you could always try the support pages, they've got manuals online and such. Or even the discussion forums at http://discussions.info.apple.com

If you're still confused www.google.com

Well, good thing you answered the question.

Anyway, to delete the songs, simply select all songs (Ctrl + a), and then right-click to delete. Trust me on this, I've done this by accident quite a few times.

You don't need to put hold unless you might click on the ipod by accident.

By the way, after like 1 minute the iPod is supposed to turn off.

If you even glanced at the manual you would know this stuff already.

www.apple.com has ALL the information you need and then some. Piecing together guesses from a message boarddoes nothing in comparison.

You have to press the play/pause button during a fer seconds, and if it doesn't turn off, press the centre button and the menu button until the apple logo appears
