zomg...I got a new fender electric guitar that came with an amp, strap, 6 picks, an intruction booklet, a wammy bar, all the wires and crap, and it has really great sound. My dad got pissed at me though because I turned it up too loud. No fair. I'm so fucking happy. Congratulate me.

Good stuff. I presume it's a Squire by Fender, not an Actual Fender Strat.

The branch in Japan stopped making Fat strats and double fat strats. I was pissed... not that I was ever going to buy one, but still.

To be completely honestly, I think I'd rather have a split-coil at the bridge and a single coil at the neck... that's a killer setup.

I can't post a picture but it looks like practicly all those other "beginner" guitars. It's that blac/white thing, you should all know what it looks like. Oh well, when i'm better, I'll get a better one.

I'm such an ass though. because I couldn't tune the guitar, I used a digital tuner and that wasn't working right so within five minutes of having the guitar, I split a string, oh well, my dad will take me to replace it today. is there some special technique to restringing a guitar?

DAMN...that fucking sucks

try http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=restringing+a+Fender+strat&meta=

It's just a list of websites but they are v.helpful IMO

I've only been playing 5 months but what I did was go to the local guitar shop and get the guy to show me in great detail how to change the strings :D

Only if you have a Floyd Rose or something.

Yea...but if she looks that up too then she should find some help

I think the best bet is just to go to the local guitar shop and get one of the guys to show her...that way she can see it happening right before her eyes :)

I agree. Especially since strings will need to be bought anyway.

How much do you think it would be to replace one string and have someone do it for me on a fender squire?

Yea...thats what I do...although I think I'll need to get him to show me again ... I don't think I've grasped it yet :o

At the guitar shop where I live it is 8...but it could be completely different since you don't live near me :p

You'll need to replace them all. Or at least buy a whole pack. I don't think anyone really sells individual strings... They generally retail at under 5, though.

what is 1 E~~ thingy equivalent to in us dollars?

I'd just get a whole new set of strings. Replace the one that's busted now and keep the others on, then if those bust just get more from the new set you bought. A package of strings are anywhere from $12 to a hundred or two.
