When you drive around the outskirts of your town or city, do you notice than a fairly large percentage of the roadsigns are peppered with bullet holes? If so, do the majority of those dents/holes seem to come from shotgun blasts? Is this normal?

When your living right next to oakland, yes.

No I don't, oh wait, maybe it's because I live in Canada.

Only 1 sign that comes to mind is riddled with bulletholes around here. And it's 5 miles away. Then again, I live in the town where "The Simple Life" was filmed.

We don't have that here. I live in a small, suburban town anyway, so not a lot of crime or vandals.

I knew a guy here, who went to live in like Arkansas or some place. When he and his host family would get drunk, they'd get on a pick-up truck and shoot highway signs.

In Denmark, this is just a weird thought.

Hoo-boy. In most places in the world, that's a weird thought. I'd go so far as to say that for the overwhelming majority of the population, that's a weird thought. A while ago Laura and I were talking about how there needs to be an intra-country exchange program, where kids from the interior go to live with families on the coasts and vice-versa. I bet that'd be just as eye-opening, if not moreso, than study abroad.

I had an inkling.

And Omni, I live in Arkansas too. I love how the only confirmations of this activity outside of my town are in other parts of my state.

Mota Boy, I agree the differences between the parts of the Americas is like going to different countries. Even between the East and West Coasts are different enough. And I would assume Louisiana is different from Texas, etc An exchange program would be a brilliant idea.

Well, when 5 year olds are asking for shotguns for Christmas...

We practice target shooting in the backyard... my dad has some sorta hunting rifle, and my neighbour has some sorta handgun. I'm a decent enough shot, I believe. But my younger sisters are living proof that it runs in the family.

In England it's very rare and if a bullet was in a street sign it would be replaced within the week (well they are in my area when vandalized)

I don't think I've ever touched a real gun except while being arrested and at my friend's house once. Taiwan tends to have people trying to kill each ocher, but nobody shoots road signs. At least, I've never seen evidence of it.

I live in Kansas, so I would be very surprised if it didn't happen in many of the smaller towns. I've never noticed it in Topeka or Lawrence, and I try to avoid going anywhere else.

If you get out of town and go on some dirt roads you will see those everywere.

Now I have a vision of you wresting a gun away from the arresting officer and blowing him away.
