I found an old version (5.0) of Photoshop somewhere. The problem is I have no idea how to turn .psd files into .jpg or .jpeg. It doesn't seem to have that option. I know I used to be able to do it back when I had Corel and ACDSee as well. Argh, any ideas?

Can't you just open them and resave them as jpg? Or is that what you meant with not having that as an option? If it is, excuse my stupidity.

That's what you'd naturally expect. But no, it's not there. It only lets you "Save as" as .psd as well. Even if I do it to former .jpgs.

Should be File>>Save As (shift+ctrl+s). Then select the filetype of your choice, namely JPEG.

Edit: Seems not, eh? Is *.* an option? Should say something like "All Filetypes". If a choice like this is available, select it and type the file name you want followed by .jpg.

did you flatten all your layers? if you have more than the background layer, that might be the reason.

also check what color mode your pictures are in. they need to be a RGB to be saved into JPGs, i believe.

Maybe you can do it in: Save Optimized as, or Save for web?

that's an Image Ready feature, isn't it?

I don't know...I know Photoshop has Save For Web too, I'm not sure about the other one though.

Thanks, sKratch. It only allowed .psd, .esp and .raw, not all file types.

Sunnies, thank you! I did not know about the RGB thing. I was just messing with it before. So I changed it back and it works now. <3

i'm using CS2 and it doesn't have "Save Optimized As".. Sim, if you want to do that, click the Image Ready icon at the bottom of your toolbar and try it from there.
