I feel like listening to something mellow... but not cheesy... something with a sax or something.
Any ideas?

Liquid Tension Experiment is a pretty cool prog jam band.

The most chilled out I can think of is Pepper. No sax, but plenty of Hawaiian charm. Or John Frusiante solo stuff.

A bit of Miles Davis perhaps? It's got sax, but it's a jazz troupe so I dunno.

Shit, no wonder I'm so highly strung, I have nothing calm in my collection.

It doesn't get any mellower than Buckethead's Colma (http://www.offspring.com/forums/showpost.php?p=712633&postcount=12) album.

Ah, Richard Cheese. A pub near me used to put on a load of his stuff when it was chucking out time. They never seemed to catch on that that was the only reason we went there.

Morphine, The Night. Fucking sexy. Deep baritone vocals, two string bass guitar, baritone sax. Rrrrrowr.

Try some Tom Waits. Dude has the most awesome gravelly baritone voice ever. His manly growl could slay an ox.

He's great to listen to when you just want to sit back and relax. Especially after a few beers (or whatever) with your friends. Good poker music as well.

Of course, it'll work so much better listening to him in the summer.

So, everybody, don't you just love when somebody asks you if you have some insanely obscure song like Leningrad's 'Menya zovut Shnur' and you can say yes?

DirtyMagical

That was trully impressive, Justin =)

I've never had any obscure music :(

Um mellow, I can recommend Belle and Sebastian. But I did last time, so yeah...

Christian Moore is good for mellow, try songs like Ride On, and Chicago. Avoid the Irish folksy stuff, unless you like that of course.

Edith Piaf is kinda lounge music-ish.

And oddly, The Family Guy Live in Las Vegas is trying to emulate Frank Sinatra, so it is relaxing in ways you wouldn't expect from them.
