I know there are alot of other good songs by them.. but there is only one I like. I only had one Incubus song on my playlist... so that is how I put it on the list. Alot of my bands aren't real one hit wonders but they are in my world.

and Bittersweet Symphony- The Verve

Beer is probably their most famous song, but it was actually never released as a single. It's famous because it was in BASEketball and it showed the band actually playing. The local college station plays it all the time though.

I have 5 Wallflowers albums, but they are still a one hit wonder. The number of albums someone owns by a certain band has no impact on if a band is a one hit wonder or not.

indeed. one-hit-wonders are those bands that have one of their songs (over)played on the radio, then kind of disappear.

If Blur are one hit wonders, then so are Oasis, Supergrass, Pulp and every other Britpop band of the 90's. Blur had at least 2 no 1 singles before they released Song 2, so they are in no way a one hit wonder.

They released a new album in 2005. I remember checking it out... I quit looking at it once I found out the lead song on the CD was a cover of Britney Spears's "Hit Me Baby One More Time".

everybody's huge in canada...i went to canada's wonderland (theme park) and everybody had some band tee, and somebody had a shirt representing every band EVER!...well not every band but more than 200 different ones

Nineteen Seventy Nine
02-02-2006, 01:59 PM
What would be Our Lady Peace's one hit? And there are alot bands that probably would be bigger among citizens here if they lived somewhere else. I'm sure Kaiser Chiefs would be huge if they got more media attention like radio play and being on MTV.

bd007h
02-02-2006, 02:02 PM
Our Lady Peaces only hit in the US is probably Somewhere Out There. It's the only one that had mainstream success. Superman's Dead and Clumsy are played on the rock stations a little bit though.

Fountains of Wayne had a huge hit a few years back with *Denise*. *Stacy's Mom* was their second big hit. So, they don't quite qualify as a one hit wonder. In case anyone was wondering.

last summer and burn burn by lost prophets

Those were hits? I only remember hearing "Last Train Home" and "Make A Move" as hits. Even if they were hits, it doesn't seem like they ever got as big as those other two, cuz I never heard them on the radio or saw videos on Fuse or whatever. Then again, I hardly ever listen to the radio, so I guess it's possible.

Nineteen Seventy Nine

I don't think that'll qualify as a one hit wonder...Although I was shamefully a fan of Burn Burn and Shinobi Vs Dragon Ninja. But this is a one hit wonder thread, not a Lostprophets thread.
