um. my bronx adventure with Mr. Twisted from like 2 years ago was the craziest thing ever, but we don't talk about that.. much.

but moving on.. recently, i basically threw myself (+ my bike) down a 4 foot drop and mangled myself good and plenty. i remember laying on the ground, pine needles all over me, thinking "beep" and "fuck" and not being able to get up.

it was nuts. rewarding, though. =p

and since you mentioned clothing-or-lack-thereof-adventures - i've gone out wearing jeans, heels, saran wrap (as a top) and black tape Xs over my nipples.

I don't think I've done anything REALLY crazy yet, unfortunately.

Crazier things involve going to concerts either with strangers or alone, just because of that added elment of danger. Wandering the streets of Toronto alone at 2AM after a show where I could've been molested by some dude at the bar, getting a ride home from Toronto with a totally random stranger that I got in touch with on a local message board, going on a roadtrip in the US with a girl I barely knew and losing my ID and money and being stranded alone in St. Louis. It all worked out though - my trust in people has not yet failed me.

And little things... drunk tobogganing, jumping off roofs, skinny dipping, sex on the beach... meh... I anticipate future adventures.

while driving drunk, i opened the door and jumped out of the car, rolling in the middle of the street going about 10km/h.

Mota Boy

Oh, and though I remember saying this before on the board, my "craziest" time also goes down as my "most mindnumbingly idiotic" time. One of the first times I got really drunk, a friend had passed me a bottle of rum at a party and told me I could have it. Well, long story short, later that night I decided I wanted to go driving. As I had just recently seen "Don't Be a Menace in South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood" I thought it'd be hilarious to act out one of the parts in it and thusly, blitzed outta my mind, began going double the speed limit on the highway while flicking my headlights on and off. And taking my hands off the steering wheel. And closing my eyes. Yeah. Later, I pissed on a school bus.

I've had some fairly interesting adventures since then, but it's hard to think of anything that tops that for crazy.

Why don't you go cry somewhere huh?" to that I kicked my chair back making her jump and I was about a foot taller than her,I said "Why don't you go fuck your damn father! Maybe he'll buy you another fuckin Benz! HELL make him scream while he cums and he'll buy you a whole new mansion!". She started crying and ran away. It was a well-deserved yelling at. random destruction of corporate property is not funny in the least.

Eh I would think among this crowd we'd have a little more people with pseudo-anarchist-like tendancies on their resumes. Between the little "activism" I was engaged in my teen years I participated in rallies and protests that often entailed a destruction of corporoate property as a consequance. It was like this big fad circa 1998-2003 or so. Remember Seattle, WTO, FTAA, World Economic Forum, the Summit in Quebec, G-7s, etc...? I think it (the spirit) has slightly died off now, but as a rule every odd number of years the college-age crowd takes it to the street to protest what series of measures are debated for that moment, and those were our days--though in all honesty it was also at a cuttoff age for most so I wouldn't blame anyone if they missed it.

edit: and for the record, i didn't participate in every event that i listed. i didn't even make it to quebec city. fuck. i only really got into the local ones in montreal. the above were merely references.

Hm well let's see.

We kinda stalked crazy people when we were kids. Literally, there's a nuthouse in the neoighbourhood and we thought it was fun to talk to them. That's not particularly crazy, but it's kinda dangerous :/

Random destroying of stuff? Well we pwn3d the Canadian embassy during the 1999 bombings. But they brought it upon themselves, I mean, they built a GLASS embassy in SERBIA. Hello?

We also randomly destroyed shit at school but that doesn't count.

I walked on "support" beams in a building that had burned down. I did the same on a window ledge on the... I do'nt know which floor, but it was pretty high.

Uhhh crazy. I'm not very crazy. Except for the "I fell in love and moved 1700km".

And the "I went to meet some random internet people once". That one prolly takes the cake. Whatta crazies.

The logic mostly being the actions of an annoyed anarchist causing havoc would only be that the employees would have to clean it up. If the employees were doing it it would make more sense to me.

And yes, I do think the stockholders should clean it up. Or the CEO since it is his responsibility.

For me, it has to be when I walked outside in shorts and a tank during the winter. Not to mention, but it was snowing outside.

look at my first one (3, 6, 7 were the best ones though I thought)

Edit: Okay I will post just some of the crazier stupider things I have done, some more crazy than others... and for the record, I do NOT smoke or drink or any of that.

1) Went streaking in boxers in middle of winter while snowing... it was fun to slide on the ice like that.

2) New Years Day 2006: I ran outside immediately after they said "Happy New Year" and caught up with my friends. We went where these two busy streets intersect and started doing all these pranks (ex: throwing snowballs, the chain game, pretending we were mugging a kid, trying to get hit, etc). While it was funny when we did all 4 listed above at once. When the car was turning it saw us pretending to beat up a friend, then we all got up to run in front of car just missing it and pretending to grab a chain, then it slowed down and sped back up, we chucked a snowball and by then they all came out of the car and chased us. It was a fun night.

3) At school dances I get this crazy kind of feeling and at one dance I just ran through a window and broke it open and pieces were outside while I was just standing there screaming (of stupidness not of pain). It cost $100 to pay for damages.

4) At this bank parking lot we were skating and they had this long wood ramp that ended when you hit a curb. I did a street luge type thing down it on my board and it hurt once I hit the curb. It was all fun though.

5) Sledding in December 2005: Even more of my friends met up to go sledding at the golf course which had this huge jump that someone made. We made it higher and it just happened to be at the best hill there. We took 4 guys and put them right under where the ramp part is and put 4 guys on the sled in weird positions. When it reached the jump it was sweet the sled kept going but the guys all fell on everyone else. I was the guy in the front of the sled and landed head first in someone's ass.

6) It seems like all I was, was stupid this winter. In late December 2005, there are these people down the street with light up reindeer. All my buddies were there but only me and one of my other friends tried to tackle it. We were trying to make it hump, but in the middle of everything, my friend looked up and just ran far away, I just kept on going and made it make sweet love perfect. Then I took a snowball and chucked it in the house's direction. It hit the garage window. What I found out once I made it past the yard was that the person was standing outside looking at me since my friend ran away. Later that night we just got more reindeer, threw more snowballs, kicked over Nativity scenes (which I am not proud of but we don't do Jesus or Mary), and we ended it by rolling this persons huge ball of snow into the middle of the road and making it bigger while me made other big ones and made a huge snow wall right in the road. That was a very fun night.

7) I saved the best for last. May not seem like a big deal for you but it the most memorable stupid thing I have done among my friends. And only 3 were there to witness it. This was in December too. It was freezing cold and pouring rain outside. We decided to walk from my house to the basketball game at the school because it wasn't raining that bad when we started. There were deep puddles every where and I started rolling in them, making rain angels, rubbing against wet stuff, in other words, trying to get hypothermia. And maybe because I was soo numb, but I didn't feel that cold.

Not exactly. I listed it as a crazy (fucking stupid) thing to do. I was just making it clear that it was a long time ago before I knew it was fairly common place. I was offering the mild defense of at least not jumping on a band wagon. These days it seems to be fucking everywhere. Emo's have no pride anymore. So sad.

Yeah. Besides, my brother swallowed a quarter once when he was younger. TOTALLY tops this guy and his penny.

Yeah, we are massively behind the US when it comes to BK. Rodeo burgers are amazing though. And only 1.45 for a burger.

pennies have all sorts of things on them you don't want to ingest, the penny itself (at least the current US pennies) are zinc coated in a thin layer of copper.

why are all of the "crazy" things insanely stupid?

Sometimes? Somehow I'm struck by the patience implied in that statement. I get irritated straight away nowadays... not so much for literary references, obviously - but just in general. If I feel like I'm clearly stating something and I have to dumb down a statement that wasn't really meant to be that complex in the first place... man, I get annoyed.

Of course, I also have little patience.

The worst is when you make a fairly subtle joke or comment and then people explain to you why what you said was funny or witty. That's when The Fury comes and they don't let you out in public any more.

Shit, I haven't worked up the willpower to do that. I just try as hard as I can to stay silent when some moron says something in class that's either blatantly obvious or some covert attempt at lateral thinking... which ends up being about at subtle as a bug on a windshield.

And Mota Boy, OMGWTF I know exactly that feeling. I honestly do try and make things fairly obvious these days, but when someone goes "You know what's really funny about that?" and you find yourself clenching your fists and going ".....No? Tell me what's funny about it. Please, please do."... well, that's just the point where you know you can break.

Hadn't read this yet, but I have a few things to say.

As a non-english major, who isn't expected to know anything.

1. Learn what we mean when we say "Kafka-esque".
2. Learn who we're referring to before disagreeing with us.
3. It's really great that you feel the "need" to write. I'd just like it if you had sense of how much of that sucks.
4. Stop labeling blatant criticism of your work as "post-modern angst".
5. See 4.
6. Get the fuck over yourselves. Economists can write great works of literature - you are anything but superior, despite what you might think.
7. Don't say "I think..." and then deliver an 8 minute speech (or 8 page paper) on what you do think, in which you contradict yourself no less than twelve times and make no fewer than 27 grammatical mistakes.... learn to think first.
8. Never, EVER pretend that you read more than others. Because you don't. Take it from someone who knows.

Chimera512
02-03-2006, 12:43 AM
T-6005, alot of that criticism is valid. and there are alot of people who take a major in english far too seriously.

I'd like to think i'm not one of those people. (you'll notice my spelling is pretty abysmal)

i met this kid at a party, i was talking and i mention i'm an english major and this fucking kid tells me that i had used the subjunctive incorrectly 15 minutes earlier I wanted to hit this kid in the head. in retrospect, i should have.

i'm right with you on #7 I was sitting in class today and there are a couple people who get called on and decide to deliver a 7 minute treatise that after the first 3 sentences has nothing to do with the discussion that had been taking place, they end up hijaking the class and people have to interupt them to get them to shut the fuck up for 30 seconds. 2 and 8 i've got nothing to say because I agree when adressed to english majors or other eletists in general.

1. Learn what we mean when we say "Kafka-esque".
ok, i know nothing about philosophy and don't pretend to, in fact, if you wanted to reccomend some kafka to start with i've got some at home i've been meaning to read.

3. It's really great that you feel the "need" to write. I'd just like it if you had sense of how much of that sucks.
personally, i don't "need" to write, i enjoy it. and i'm not very good at math or science so that's why i'm an english major, because i'm bad at hard stuff. (yes, an english major is easy i'll be the first to admit that) any engineering feild or hard math/science seems to me to take more brain power then reading a book and then chatting about it in dusty classrooms.

4. Stop labeling blatant criticism of your work as "post-modern angst".
when anything gets labeled post-modern it's laughable.

5. See 4.
see 4.

6. Get the fuck over yourselves. Economists can write great works of literature - you are anything but superior, despite what you might think.
and if anyone took the time to look they'd see lots of great authors didn't just sit around trying to write great books (although some of them did, like Spenser i think)

basically, i agree with you. took me way too long to say it.
guess i'm an english major. sorry to waste your time if you read all of that.

Last night, with mates, drove past some house, according to my friend someone was peering out the window, so as you do, you go back for another look. He said they were still there. We Kept on driving past for no apparent reason, other than to be stupid and make it look like we were sussing the place out, even though we wern't.

Eventually, we find this car up our arse with high beams blaring, horn screaming. The woman had gotten in her car and chased us.

That's when we left.

I remember some time last year, I went to the mall. I was in Hot Topic and this girl from school (whom I don't know), came up to me and called me a bitch to her friends. So basically, I tackled her and started beating the crap out of her. My friends had to pull me off eventually. After that, the girl occasionally still talks about me, but now, she doesn't do it in front of me (like in the mall that day).

Really? Because Daniel and I were at Starbucks today doing our casual smoke and drink a cappuchino bit before work. Me wearing my Fall Out Boy hoodie and girl pants, and Daniel in his Taking Back Sunday hoodie and camo's. Well, this preppy chick and her 2 friends came up and was like "Hey look its the emo brothers. Even though I hate to see girls crying at my own words I felt good this time.

This thread's title reminds me of these two American girls whose conversation I heard when I was at the airport waiting for Conan.

It went something like this:

Girl 1: Ohmygod it's freezing. (It kind of wasn't.)
Girl 2: Gah, we really should go home.
Girl 1: The guys will never leave.
Girl 2: Yeah. This is kind of crazy.
Girl 1: We've done crazier things! *giggles*
Girl 2: Oh my god we have I know.
Girl 1: Oh absolutely.
Girl 2: Wait, like what?
Girl 1: Like the snowfight--
Girl 2: Yes ohmygod.
Girl 1: It was SO cold.
Girl 2: How cold was it?
Girl 1: Chris said it was -20 celcius.
Girl 2: Oh my god.

Liek OMG!11

A snowfight is something that keeps you warm, geez.
