I'm not really a Rugby fan....but i can see the point and attraction

Now i know we've had the first match - if you havent heard the result.....sorry......England 47-13 Wales.

So what are your predictions for all the other matches?

Never Gonna Find Me

Ha. My best friend was absolutely gutted because she's Welsh and we had a bet on who would win. But then half of their first team was out.
Im not sure who will win but England are in a good position.

02-04-2006, 04:14 PM
ooooh... one of my favourite times of year (doesn't beat the all-ireland though).

Ireland 26 - Italy 16

I don't want to make predictions this early on in the championship... so we'll just have to wait. If Ireland beat France next week, we're pretty much set up for the rest.

02-05-2006, 07:09 AM
hmm so not making any predictions yet? interesting

well its to early in the Scotland V France game right now soo

02-05-2006, 07:15 AM
I bet Scotland manage a miracle win.

02-05-2006, 08:06 AM
Scotland 20 - 3 France :D

02-05-2006, 01:43 PM
I couldn't believe scotland won.... i mean, its great, but so unexpected.

The table at the moment stands like this:

... still early days though, anything can happen.

02-05-2006, 08:33 PM
It's gonna be either Ireland or Wales who take it. Wales if they get their full team back. Doubt that will happen tho. Ireland have a really stong, young team goin this year. England will do well too, and if Wales don't win it, England will come close, but I can't see them winning it to be honest. And I'm not Irish or Welsh either (not that there's anything wrong with that, all my mates are welsh for a start, and the irish are just cool...), Im English, i just can't see them winning it this year!

02-06-2006, 12:04 AM
I would hope it will be a Scotland - England final where England win. However, all the teams are quite stong this time not able to make a strong prediction but maybe after a few more games lol.

02-06-2006, 03:34 AM
The English pack are very strong. I can see them just steamrollering over all the others. Scotland played surprisingly well, they should beat Italy and Ireland judging on this weekend. But if Wales get their team together it could prove a very interesting championship. And I do hope they get the team playing because they are simply wonderful to watch when they're in full flow.

02-06-2006, 04:36 AM
Whoa, Scotland kicked France's ass!!! I was surprised too, it's been about 10 years since the last time Scotland won against France!

02-06-2006, 12:38 PM
someone was telling me France where the next best team to the all blacks.....is that true???

02-06-2006, 01:13 PM
Nah, its bollocks.

02-06-2006, 01:23 PM
ach well......we still kicked there asses!

02-12-2006, 01:27 PM
France 43 - Ireland 31

We lost, but to come up from 40 points behind.... wow! Terrible 1st Half, but we fought back gallantly. Lost the Grand Slam, but heres to the Triple Crown!

02-12-2006, 03:17 PM
oh what was the Scotland score?

EDIT; just looked it up....ouch

02-25-2006, 01:10 PM
OMG well well well so Scotland won against England......Anyone see the match i missed it.....retail therapy!

02-25-2006, 02:50 PM
I didn't see the match either... for the exact same reason. Well done!! I almost fell down the stairs with glee when i found out... England's grand slam hopes are over, not that i'm happy about that

02-26-2006, 10:17 AM

Now I'm Really happy Scotland Won....Wish I'd seen the match now.....last night in the pubs would have been fantasic

02-26-2006, 03:15 PM
Wow it really does! Was that today?

It was! And it was worth every minute....

02-26-2006, 03:18 PM
I won't pretend I wasn't annoyed by the England-Scotland game. We played well, but we didn't deserve to win. Always into their 22, always dropping the ball at the last second. Bah. It was frustrating to watch.

02-26-2006, 03:22 PM
Ah.. you know what they say.. ''winning the world cup isn't everything'' :)

In all seriousness, Scotland beating England was in everyones favour, now the competion has blown right open... its anyones, apart from Italy's (who are really only there to keep the numbers even... ;) )

02-26-2006, 03:38 PM
Ah.. you know what they say.. ''winning the world cup isn't everything'' :)

No, being top of the Six Nations table and losing 1 game out of 3 is pretty up there too.

02-26-2006, 03:43 PM
You've only played 3 so far.... still 2 to go.

Only top of table now... wait till 2 weeks

02-26-2006, 03:43 PM
We shall see.

02-26-2006, 03:45 PM
...We shall

03-11-2006, 12:51 PM
Well the bits i did see I have to say Ireland did played well!!

03-11-2006, 03:37 PM
Ireland 15 - Scotland 9
(all penalties)

Good game, great effort on both sides. Could have gone either way, but in fairness, Ireland did have their game together.

One more match to go (thank goodness, 6 nations is bad for my health!). I'm off to the London Irish rugby club to watch the England V Ireland game, so excited... Triple Crown glory, here we come!

*breaks into Fields of Athenry*

03-11-2006, 06:00 PM
Pfft. Don't get ahead of yourself.

03-11-2006, 06:04 PM
I have little pleasures in life and rugby is one of them, I will get excited ahead of schedule if I want....

03-11-2006, 06:05 PM
I'm going to watch my first ever rugby match tomorrow! Are you all excited for me?

03-11-2006, 06:09 PM
France V England?

Hmm.. my moneys on a French win (money in the metaphorical sense... i have none). I'm not watching it though, i'm busy.

03-11-2006, 06:11 PM
WHAT?! Come on, you have to be watching it! You need to give me hints on what is a good move etc.

03-11-2006, 06:15 PM
I have important shopping and aimless walking around London to do, sorry ;)

Anyway, how would I give you hints unless I was watching it with you? I'd hardly be online watching rugby, do you not know me at all??

03-11-2006, 06:36 PM
No, no I don't! Although if I get some Guinness/Murphys in, I think you shoiuld come and fill me in fully!

No innuendo's please.

03-11-2006, 06:47 PM
I'm off drink, remember?

Anyway, watch and learn, it'll be better for you than having me squeak at the TV every 5 seconds.

03-11-2006, 06:49 PM
Ah yes! bloody lent....

You want to talk about squeaking at the telly: you should be with me watching a Villa game! it's painful!

03-12-2006, 02:17 PM
no one mentioning todays result?

03-12-2006, 02:21 PM
Oh i completey forgot about todays match!!

HAHAHA France completey thrashed England!
France 31-6 England

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/shared/img/o.gifEngland's Six Nations hopes were left hanging by a thread after they crashed to a record-equalling defeat in Paris.

03-12-2006, 02:45 PM
wanted someone else to say it first so that i wouldn't be accused of being a brit-basher. I was in London today when I found out... in Whitehall, trying to suppress my laughter!

Ah well, that leaves Ireland at the top of table... for the week :)

03-15-2006, 05:24 PM
3 more days (or two because its now 1:30am)! I'm excited...

My mum's friend from Meath has come to stay with us for a bit, and she said she was with the Irish rugby team in Dublin airport this afternoon... they were going to Birmingham. Thought i'd share that random bit of information....

03-22-2006, 02:53 PM
I know its late (moments gone really), but...

Triple Crown baybee!

Had to let that out...
