Way to point out obvious choices that everyone has already heard of.

Anyway, maybe try some stuff by the Epoxies or the Subhumans if you haven't already tried them. Those are my two big ones right now in those genres.

So, half of that list is bands that everyone would have downloaded if they're interested in them, and the other is crap. Way to go.

Anyway, they arn't really in any of the genres you mentioned, but another really good band to check out is Television. They're kind of like the Talking Heads, Patti Smith, and stuff like that. Really good stuff.

Well yeah, but common sense will tell you that she's at least heard of the Ramones, and most likely the Dead Kennedys if she likes punk rock.

Drum Goddess
02-04-2006, 07:53 PM
Yes^ I love the DK's and The Ramones. I have all the albums. Ok question. If I get Napster To Go, and then I burn a cd wuld I be charged because I burned them and didn't transfer them to my I-pod?

Drummerguy123
02-04-2006, 08:34 PM
lol. Try The Offspring! I hear they are really good!

But seriously, get some music from The Eels. They are aawesome. Souljacker Part. 1 and That's Not Really Funny are some of my personaly favorites, and if you are in the mood for something softer, get Beautiful Freak or Friendly Ghost.

Drum Goddess

Ok but first I need them to answer my email before I get anything else.

Who? The Eels?

It's a wonderful thing I like to call e-mail.

Drummerguy123

Becasue it's not my credit card that tis is being charged to if they charge me. Thats why.

bd007h
02-04-2006, 10:36 PM
It seems like you're missing the point. They're not gonna know if your burn a cd or not after you download the song, unless you tell them you're going to

Yes A7X is a great band to see live. Dude Napster is fun when you don't have to pay. I just bought the Special Goodness album. And It was all free and shit. I'm gonna buy a million cds for 2 months.

bd007h
02-04-2006, 10:56 PM
Atom and Pat Wilson are awesome, but I actually haven't heard anything by the Special Goodness.

I'll have to download some of their stuff sometime. Too bad p2p programs don't work here at my dorm due to a campus firewal

Drum Goddess
02-04-2006, 11:23 PM
Ha ha. You live in a dorm! That really must suck. I never lived in a dorm. I've had an apartment since I was 18. My parents help pay some rent cuz it's in their name. But still it sure beats livin in a dorm.

bd007h
02-04-2006, 11:27 PM
the dorms here are basically apartments. We have a full kitchen/living room, 2 bathrooms, and all 4 of us have separate bedrooms.

Drum Goddess
02-04-2006, 11:29 PM
Yeah thats pretty cool. But I have my kid and what not so I couldn't stay in a dorm anyway. They don't let you.

bd007h
02-16-2006, 10:33 AM
that's why you shouldn't have emailed them. They would have never known

Deeper Underground, by Jamiroquai

If you like jamiroquai, I recommend "where do we go from here?", "Travelling without moving", "Too young to die" and "Mr. Moon"...

As for other recommendations:

Bad religion - Who we are
Jakalope - Pretty life
Shocore - Bonecracker
Capdown - Pound for the sound
The aquabats - Pool party
The exies - My goddess
The living end - Tainted love
Billy talent - Nothing to lose
Agent orange - Seek and destroy (I know, it's a metallica cover...)
St. Germain - So flute (lounge, for the ones who care)
Dup pistols - Keep moving (Trip hop)
De Heideroosjes - Euronoise
Dropkick murphys - The dirty glass

I could go on for ages...

Those songs are also awesome. To add to the Jamiroquai list, download Black Devil Car.

I'd say you gotta dowload some of these songs:
Pennywise- Greed, Alien, Victim of reality, Nowhere fast, Can't Believe it, Can't take anymore and probably... just for you

Alkaline Trio- Queen of Pain, Radio, All On Black, Hell Yes, Good Bye Forever, My Little Needle and Private eye or Mr Chainsaw.

Sum 41- The Hell song

Box Car Racer- Elevator.

Oh and Lit- too fast for a U turn.

I would think of more but im tired sorry. these songs are just great in my opinion so download them if you want, the pennywise ones and alkaline trio ones are especially good. :p

Oh and I'd highly reccomend some Papa Roach, probably some of their earlier stuff...but thats only my opinion.

Alkaline Trio
Maybe I'll Catch Fire and You've Got So Far To Go

I LOVE that album, it really hit me when it first listened to it and it's arguably their best (I don't think noodlesisalliwant would agree from what his list shows though) If you haven't got into them then those two songs are what Alkaline Trio should be.

Misfits
Hybrid Moments, Horror Business and Come Back

Hybrid Moments is my personal favourite Misfits songs, I love it so much, a lot more melodic than some of their later stuff. Horror Business is a raw and visceral song about Nancy Spugeon ("You don't go in the bathroom with me"). Come Back is the most horribly ignored song ever, it's simply amazing how Glenn stretched a song with three chords to 5 minutes without it sounding incredibly boring. You can really hear the power in his voice and the emotion in the lyrics.
