Eh, just like all over Europe these days. It got better here now but last week I was walking through what used to be a path with my boots in the snow completely.

02-12-2006, 09:55 AM
Heh, better then what we've got. It's all wet and sticky, and normally I don't mind that, but with the weather, it kinda sucks...

Sunny
02-12-2006, 09:56 AM
this is apparently the biggest snowstorm to hit NYC since 1996.. so i doubt it's a lot better than what you've got. =/

Our traffic collapsed twice this winter. Yay.

Part of my way home from school is an open field, and sometimes I end up waist-deep in snow. Stupid northern countries' fucked up weather.

Oh, I had that in the old place I lived. Sometimes a meter of snow or more in other places. Was fun.

yah our mass transit is fucked too. i know all buses are delayed.. the harlem train line is shut down.. the hudson operates on limited service.. and some subways, especially elevated ones, are all fucky too.

eueueuegh.

You don't know what you got till it's gone. We only get rain over here. We get one or two days of snow if we're lucky...

But maybe the snow storm is a bit too much...

02-12-2006, 10:06 AM
Same here. ıt's the worst (or the best) winter I've ever seen. It was fun at first but now it's just annoying. I'm always late for school, I hate wearing too much clothes, I hate wearing gloves, I hate falling on the street.

Sunny
02-12-2006, 10:07 AM
i really don't like snow. i mean, it's pretty when you're inside drinking peppermint hot chocolate wrapped in a blanket. which is what i'm doing right now.
however, my husband spent the past day and a half driving 1800 miles in a snowstorm, so um. it's not a lot of fun, and i'm worried about the driving conditions getting worse.

and i have to go out today. poopy. i'm gonna have to whip out the (f)uggs and full winter gear. ugh.

That_Guy91
02-12-2006, 10:08 AM
On the plus side, I might not have to go to school tomorrow, since I live pretty far from it. And if I do go, snowball fight.

I'm jealous! Snow is nice (as long as you get to stay inside), I love it! We have rainlike snow now, it's disgusting.

I know, no schools ever close, but my mom might not make me go. I kinda hope the buses don't run, then I won't have a choice.

02-12-2006, 10:12 AM
We don't get free from school with heat, since it's barely warm, and we don't get snow days, cause it never snows. To sum it up; We're fucked.. :)

Now I remember another reason to hate snow. My uggs got so fucked up in mud and snow. I can't even see what colour they are.

And snowfights are not fun anymore. Especially when people put snow inside of your clothes. I've never thought that I could hate winter.

Haha.. it is beautiful here. The bright sun reflected brightly over the several inches of sparkling glamourous shimmers of snow. And the cool refreshing 30 degree weather is still soothing on the lungs.

Rag Doll

Yeah, it's the worst since 1996. My road hasn't been plowed since 4am. And my boss called at 9am and he's like "the roads are fine, i hope you're planning to come in"....wtf?? NJ transit isn't running (at least it wasnt at that time in the morning, I dunno now). My town is in a "state of emergency" and you're not supposed to be driving. But yeah, I'll be RIGHT IN...puh. Hope your husband's ok, Sunny.

well, it *is* Dutch snow, which doesn't count for very much. it melted almost as soon as it hit the ground, but still gave a pretty fucking cool view. snowflakes everywhere. *sigh* just no beautiful white world.

At least it's kinda exciting when transit shuts down and schools/businesses are closed, etc. Yay, winter adventure!

Back where I used to live in Northern Ontario, we had snowstorms all the time with 1-2 foot snowfalls and it was ALWAYS business as usual since the city was prepared with plows and stuff... no fun! Now in Southern Ontario, people make a big deal over "snowstorms" (aka "light flurries") and I scoff!

Either way, I'm glad I'm not there. Enjoy!

Oh man, I'm lovin' it. My flight's cancelled, so I get to stay with my family another day. Last night I got plastered with my sister, an old friend and a few of his friends. At four a.m. we're running around the middle of Columbia with about two dozen other people, throwing snow, jumping into hedges and passing a bottle of wine around. This afternoon we wandered around the city and talked life against one of the most beautiful, energetic backdrops I've ever witnessed. Of course, I'm lucky I'm just passing through.

No way. We've got a negligible amount of snow lying outside here in Toronto. Talk about lame. I'd heart so much about terrible Canadian winters...

Not that I'm complaining, you know.
