Well, it might be the bass and guitar solo in the Manowar song Mountains. It's just so... beautiful... Too bad they don't have a guitar player who's that good any more.
I'm pretty sure Maiden's Dance of Death has got some really cool solo in it too.

Skin O' My Teeth - Megadeth
Panhandlin' Prince - Ugly Kid Joe

It's not a guitar solo, but right now I'm in love with the Sax solo on Hendershot by the Frog Brigade. My favorite guitar piece is probably the entirety of Since I been Lovin' You by Led Zeppelin.

Dragonforce - Fury of the Storm
Pennywise - Time Marches On
Bad Religion - The Defense
Sum 41 - No Brains
Avenged Sevenfold - Eternal Rest

I picked one from each band I meant to mention.

Led Zepp-Stairway to Heaven (Beautiful and classic)
Iron Maiden-Sign of the Cross (Awesome)
Deep Purple-Child in Time (Another Classic)
Yngwie Malmsteen-Baroque and Roll (The whole song is like a big guitar solo)
Joe Satriani-Surfing with the Alien (Tricky parts and awesome tapping licks in this song)
Chuck Berry-Johnny B.Goode (Not really difficult but I like the way it sounds)

Another good solo is in Kick Me by The Vandals.

What isn't awesome about that song?

ATM, the guitar solo is in Derek Sherinian - Day of the Dead. Allan Holdsworth does such an amazing job. During one section of the song, Zack Wild (from Black Label Society) plays some awesome heavey metal riffage while Allan Holdsworth solos over it with his traditional jazz style. I was impressed how he was able to pull it off so well especially with a metal background. Considering he's more of a strict jazz player than anything else, Allan Holdworths proved that he could be versatile in any context. There's something about the way he solos that brings about that feeling of that moment right before you cry. It's weird...

There are a lot of guitarist (ex: Slash and Page) who have the reputation of creating "emotional" solos but I just don't buy it. They tend to be very cliché and never seem to invoke any actual feelings that are true to their complexity. Yeah, maybe their solos are beautiful, easy on the ear, and nice sounding, but it seems to me that they simplify emotions and don't explore the ugliness in real human emotion. That's what I like about Holdworth style. He's able to accomplish that ugliness with complex and messy passages that I like while still sounding good.

Whoa, I think I just ranted

I agree, best Noodles riffs out of any songs.

Anyway, the spy theme solo in "When Ya Get Drafted" by Dead Kennedys. A really out of tune sorta thing.

Eruption < Most other Van Halen solos

Seriously, there is little to no form on it, it's just Eddie going like "check it out, bitches, I gots TWO hands on MY fretboard." I'd much rather listen to him solo on a real song than just listen to him wank around for a minute and a half. Gay.

Through the fire and the flames - DragonForce
...what can I say...it's just plain crazy!

Washing me away in the tides - Trivium,

My Sharona is by the Knack.

And my personal favorite.... hmm, difficult choice.

Probably Bell Bottom Blues, by Derek and the Dominos. It sounds perfect in with the rest of the song.

Otherwise, probably Vampire Love by Ash.

Seriously for Christ sakes, everyone could learn something from this guy, I cant stand the hype around Eruption, I mean its good for wankage and all, but nearly every Roth Era's Van Halen songs have better solos...on to my favourites.

Ozzy (w/Randy Rhoads) - Mr Crowley (both of them)
Ozzy (w/Randy Rhoads) - Over the Mountain
Ozzy (w/Randy Rhoads) - Revelation Mother Earth
Guns n Roses - Civil War
Guns n Roses - Night Train (outro solo)
Guns n Roses - You Could be Mine
Guns n Roses - November Rain
Pink Floyd - Money
Pink Floyd - Time
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Pink Floyd - Echoes
Iron Maiden - Hallowed be thy name
Iron Maiden - Dance of Death
Iron Maiden - Clansman
Iron Maiden - Blood Brothers
Van Halen - Aint Talkin 'bout love
The Eagles - Hotel California
Led Zeppelin - Black Dog
Black Sabbath - Fairys wear boots

.... I could go on forever, thats my narrowed down list.

How could I forget the (first) solo in Beyond the Realms of Death (Judas priest)?! That one's great. The one in Dreamer Deciever is too.

Washing me away in the tides - Trivium,
I'm going to see them live in November. Well, actually I'm going to see Maiden, but they're a "Special Guest". Could you upload a song or two for me?

Fire It Up- Black Label Society
Do you have any idea how long that solo's been stuck in my head?
For a very long time!
The song's in the game Guitar Hero.
And trying to do the very fast part on expert is tough.
The slower part is easy, of course!
