What 3 things would you do to the next album to make it 'THE' album we have been waiting for since smash e.g. insert a ballad, or erase those jokie songs ect.

In other words what 3 things would you like to see in the next album. :D

1) I would add only one jokie song but increase the track list by 1 or 2 more songs than usual to make up.
2) Give the album a more punk feeling i.e based around ignition
3) I would make it a little more raw, not as over produced like splinter and CO1

Maybe they'll hire you then.

I hope they use Andy Wallace. He produced/mixed the latest SOAD CD's and the Avenged Sevenfolds' City of Evil. Awesome recording sound.

hey good thread! well.........
1) trash joke songs except one
2) make album at least 5 songs longer
3) never ever play ska on an album again

I would leave the playlist and song order up to the band and let them go all out and do what they want. I hate it when producers do most of that shit for them. I don't blame the offspring for the last few albums, I blame columbia producers.

I would fire the guys at once and would go work with another band! :D

....and let them do the album them selves.

Lithuanian Offspring

1. I would put one joke song, but make it sound punk. Sort of like Original Prankster but without any bells and whistles.
2. More songs like Can't Get My Head Around You, and Ignition type songs. The ones that are like punk but not, you know how the Offspring have their own Rock/Punk sound.
3. More songs. Make it a double CD.

02-14-2006, 09:14 AM
1. the songs would lyricaly social like not the one or jenny lost the war
2. make them write 15+ songs
3. make them re-release I'll Be Waiting

ha, if I produce that album, no one would buy it and i'll get fired instantly, just proposing that

3. More songs. Make it a double CD.
I agree with that

02-14-2006, 09:56 AM
I would put 15 or 16 songs on the CD, the first song would be sort of an introducing song, like many other Cds by The Offspring
Have one joke song with a nice punk vibe. (like I choose). although that one probably isn't a joke but still kinda funny
one slow, but still hard song. (like pay the man)

3. make them re-release I'll Be Waiting

1/ Get them in a room with Bad Relgion, and the surviving Ramones...get them to help out.

2/Get them to re-record the first 3 albums, on 4-track tape recorders in a day

1. as usual, album has gotta be like an hour long

2. one joke song, One fine day like

3. if they go touring again i'd tell them to play longer than just one fucking short hour. or to just charge less than almost 40 bucks....

02-14-2006, 01:13 PM
1. 14 tracks + some hidden mexican/egyptian/island shit again :)
2. Long songs.
3. 5 heavy songs

They should make it like AFI - Sing The Sorrow

02-14-2006, 01:20 PM
1: Try to keep punk, but still experimental in their own sound
2: No funny songs, more funny introductions and "in-betweens", which are a lot shorter mostly...
3: More tracks. I don't buy and album to listen for 30 minutes...(even if it's great, thats too short)

02-14-2006, 01:23 PM
1. Most songs similar to Ignition, Self Titled and Smash.
2. A few nice light songs filled with depression like Amazed, Dirty Magic, RAM, etc.
3. Something like Pay The Man as a hidden track possibly.

This should equal at least 12 songs as the minimum, but actual songs.

/\ That's nice!

02-14-2006, 02:20 PM
eventhough i would force them to make an acoustic..

02-14-2006, 02:26 PM
1. Make songs lyrics more fun like Dont Pick It Up
2. Add some forgin music types with punk such as mixing reggae, ska or anything else.
3. Let Noodles solo for extended periods.

Make this album interesting, different, and fun!

02-14-2006, 02:33 PM
the only thing i would do is make it kind of a more raw sounding album! im not saying offspring have, but too many bands these days just release over produced rubbish!

02-14-2006, 02:44 PM
Alls i can say is, THANK GOD YOU PEOPLE DON'T PRODUCE!! Ignition, Smash, both great albums and great music, but I for one LOVE how the Offspring have mixed So Cal punk with a taste of heavy metal. Its awesome. And i know im gonna get ALOT of crap from you guys for saying this, but I think Splinter is one of their best albums.......except for all that goofy crap they put on it. I say let the Offspring keep doin what theyre doin and let it be like that..........Of Course, i Wouldn't mind hearing the new version of DIRTY MAGIC!!!!

It is up to Dexter, Noodles, Greg, and Atom to decide. I know they will make a good choices
