The bill is gonna be a lot, 'cause I think having christmas lights on a christmas tree for a day or two uses up more energy and costs more than running a PC for 2 weeks.

That's totally true, somepeople have too much, whole house covered by lights, santa's and stuff in the garden. It looks very cool, but.. it's their bill right, they gotta know for themselves.

A lot of people do that here, santa's, reindeers, and everything. It looks pretty stupid most of the times.

Theres a street, with 3 houses.. sort of family that lives next to each other. Every year they cover their houses in lights, inside, out, gardens, then give profit to charity. They aren't doing it this year because the mum died.. otherwise I'd go take a pic.. but next time I go around ferry fryston (you get blinded) I'll take pictures of around there :D

profit?

Yeah! People from everywhere around Wakefield come to see! So they charge 50p to see around and stuff, and the money they get goes to charity.

Ah man.. reminds me, Christmas is coming up, so that means we're going to watch that National Lampoons movie with Chevey Chase.

Christmas lights look nice and pretty if they are tasteful. The ones in our town centre are really nice. Just lights made into big star and bell shapes and lines of lights along the branches of trees. That looks cool. Lights in ppl's gardens and on their houses do usually look tacky though,I agree. Just a few coloured lights in a conifer tree can look nice though. Most lights etc in ppl's gardens look cheap and tacky because well, they are- in comparison to the expensive lights town/city councils use to decorate the streets. For the most part, definately a waste of electricity!

I seem to always miss the national lampoon films. Probably because I don't like the name or the lame humour..

Last year a house near my street was covered in those light things, only the lights, but they had yellow, red and blue ones...looked awful! If you're gonna do it, get some proper colours...but...BLUE?????

i hate the whole blinking light effects all over my house. we havent done that in like 3 yrs already. i hated when the lights would flash thru my window and keep me up at night.

i also dont like all these x-mas movies they give over and over in all the channels every year. the only one i like is A Christmas Story. dont go licking flag poles now

maybe the intention was red, -white- & blue & was yellow the closest that came to white they could get.

are you just pasting random bits of text or is it one big article that you've spread all over the board?
