I was just thinking back over the past years and realizing that The Offspring have no live album. Whereas bands like Slipknot, Green Day, Blink 182 etc. have. Why? Surely you would buy it??? Am I right :D

Well, first of all, I don't really see the point in having a concert on CD if you can't see it. Second, just thought i'd mention, Linkin Park: Live in Texas really wasn't that good.

Offspring is awesome as a band but they have a greatest hits album, but I hope that's not the end of them.

Yeah they have like a ton of live CD bootlegs. We can all upload some for you if you want. Just nothing that is included in the discography The Offspring haven't really had.

In case you haven't heard, the Offspring are releasing a new album this year. But because you are new, I will excuse you of your "not the best common senseness".

But welcome to the boards. :)

But you arrived in November 2005. The Offspring just recently this year in 2006 confirmed it on the site and stuff. But I excused him so he shouldn't be feeling bad. But just in case:

Sorry.

They sure would be good enough for a live album! But despite the fact that people would buy it like hell they don't release one...fiine thing =)
Whoever wants to discover them live should either buy the v/m collection or simply buy a ticket for their concert or do both in this very order.

I think live CDs are totally pointless.. I don't think I would buy a live CD from The Offspring if it didn't contain any new songs..

I'd most likely buy it, since it's probably awesome quality and might contain extras. And to add to my collection obviously.

they haven't done a live albumk, because they said they think its a cop out to fans....just like they said....a greatest hits...was a cop out....

so what do you know, maybe they'll put a live album out.

The day an artist do something different I'll die of hapiness. Why not record tracks from all countries and put them all together? It'd be fucking awesome.

Live cds are great, i'd certainly prefer them over a greatest hits. As well the audio is certainly better then any bootleg. The Bosstones did a great one, as did Nofx, no reason for the Offspring not to.

that would actually be really cool, or along that vein, a dvd, and every song is from a different show from different countries.

iv always thought live cds were a quick way to get out of record company contracts

live cds > greatest hits.

ANY DAY.

Often times, when I first am interested in a band, and they have a live cd out, I'll buy that first, and that'll determine my opinion of them. I'll almost never buy a greatest hits (I think of my 400 cds, I have 2 greatest hits albums). Live albums are terrific. They are possibly the best "other" album a band can release (like, besides an LP).

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have been thinking the SAME exact thought for the last week or so, so to make up for it, ive been watchin the DVD Collection's live performances. THey need a live album because they are hands down the best "live" band that ive ever seen.

They do play well live. Maybe a dvd and cd of a concert would be good.

yes, but bootlegs don't have the same quality as an official live cd.

nirvana is not a band anymore. they don't need to release anymore cds. get over it.

as far as live music... hearing live music is so much better than hearing studio music... I don't care if I can't see it (thought it's better when you can see it). I just much prefer live music- it's so much more raw and real. It also makes or breaks a band for me. If they suck live, I won't respect them anymore... but if they're amazing live, they can become one of my favorite bands.
