self esteem- he often doesn't hit the notes live.

alright, of all the songs that have been listed... he sings the highest in "she's got issues". In that song, he hits a C#.... in all the others, he hits a C... so she's got issues wins so far :P

Self esteem. He can't even reach the highest note live now. Just like it was said.

yeah... that's what I said... but I listened to it, and he only is singing up to like G... she's got issues hits C#, which is 3 1/2 notes higher than G... do they ever do that song live?

I really doubt it. and the note he hits (or doesn't) in Self Esteem live is actually a Bb because they play most live stuff half a step lower than studio so Dex's vocal chords survive.

edit : maybe I read stuff wrong. anyway, live is half a step down compared to studio, for most songs.

Hey, what about the *Falling* part in Living in a chaos

Llamas

uhhhh Bb isn't a half step below C# or G... so yeah LIVE he's singing a C in "she's got issues" and an F# in "self esteem"...

maybe I read wrong, but anyway, he's gotta preserve his vocal chords...

dudes...the "ooooh-oooh oooh oooh ooh" bridge to "Me and My Old Lady." I can practically hear his nuts retreating into his abdominal cavity. ;)

okay yeah the highest "oh" in that part is the same note he hits in "she's got issues"... so, so far those two songs are the high contendors :)

Like said before in She's Got Issues Dexter hits a high C#, which is a really high note! But someone mention that in Me & My Old Lady he hits some extremely high notes also. I think in Me & My Old Lady he hits the really high E when he does the ooooooooooo...... I'm pretty sure on a guitar that he hits the E on the high E string: the twelfth fret.
In Self Estemm's chorus he hits an A.

Llamas

no in MAMOL, he hits the same C# as in she's got issues... I really don't think he can go higher than that, cause his voice already strains a lot to hit that...

In Hit That he is singing the high notes (B) but at the end of Me & My Old Lady he is sort humming, i wouldn't call it singing....listen to it....

she's got issues and me and my old lady still trump as having the highest notes...

If we were talking about a whole song... then It'd have to be Gone Away, cause he sings high notes for alot of the song duration. Just my views anyway...

What this thread basically proves is that Dexter can do many things with his voice. He can go really high, fairly high, moderatly high, and then normal.

Llamas
03-08-2006, 09:37 AM
true. it's dumb to keep arguing what the "highest" one is. dexter can sing pretty high for a guy, but I like his voice more when he sings really low (like in head around you).

in vultures alternative he reaches quite a high pitch but probs not the highest so there was no point me even posting this :P
