Lordi? WHY?! They don't belong there! ...sellouts...

JoY

oh my good lord..
isn't it publically well known that only sell outs get to sing in the songfestival? better yet, they sell out the minute they try to earn themselves a spot in that rediculous event.

I'll probably still watch it, though.

I'll laugh so hard if they win.

You can't NOT watch Eurovision. It's so ridiculous and corrupt you can't help but love it.

exactly! like Beauty & the Nerd (I think you called it "Beauty & the Geek"). hearing that blonde bounceball say she probably had an IQ of 500 was fucking priceless. it's just people embarrassing themselves.

I just hope Treble will represent us. they can embarrass us best. you know, if you represent a country, you'd say you sing in your own language. but no, we've got two candidates singing in English (Maud & some boyband ['Behave'. they claim to make rock, but as every rockfan knows; the Dutch don't know fucking rock]) & the girlgroup Treble singing in a self-made language. especially that last mention, good god. they should definitely enter the songfestival. everyone would just stare at each other, thinking; "I thought Dutch was like German??"

Andy

I don't think anyone in the UK cares who represents us; we'll come close to last anyway no matter how strong the song is. Especially as our entry is some dance act.

Lars

I like the fact that it should something 'different' from the more typical (now) of acts singing some cringe worthy pop song in English.

JoY
03-11-2006, 07:23 AM
in that case, bring on Treble & their home-cooked language.

*giggles*

Maud does make Dutch songs, though. if she has a desire to represent the Netherlands, she better sing in Dutch.

I hope Finland stops participating in the Eurovision.. We're such losers. and it's so ridiculous that we're losers ...in BAD music. Christ.

That's what I think too! I haven't heard much of our candidates, but a lot of them sing in english, and that's so lame. I think one artist even sang in Italian. Why?!

My dad seemed a bit upset (or was it sheer disbelief?) at the fact they won. Or maybe it's just cause he was living up the drunk Finnish stereotype? At least they won at something on Saturday.

I enjoyed it, I didn't realise the platforms on his boots were that tall, it looked like they were approaching the 1 foot mark.

They actually won? This makes me so sad.

In an "I'm not really sad but amused" way.

Vera

Yeah, we pwned the Eurovision. Because 40 years of losing and THEN winning with this sort of a group means the joke is on all those ridiculous eurotrash glamour pop bands that sing about love and shit.

In short, we pwned the Eurovision.

I hated that song. And I hate that they won. They didn't win because of the song, that's for sure.

Some sucky popsong should have won. Don't change the EuroVision.

Lordi ruined everything ;_;

Fuck that, Eurovision's been mindless drivel for years. It's about time someone shook it up.

1. Lordi is hilarious. I think it's awesome that they won.

2. Lordi IS mindless drivel embodied.

If you have such strong feelings either way, you shouldn't be watching eurovision.

I for one think Malta were better than Finland.

Wasn't really referring to you. But it seems kinda lame to hate eurovision. I mean it's supposed to be poppy and camp. If it's mindless drivel, why did you watch it? Why do you care enough to hate it? . Mindless drivel is a tad extreme don't you think?

I don't hate Eurovision. I never said I did. And I didn't watch it, I was working, but I've seen most of the acts since. And I know Lordi's mindless drivel, but it's a different kind of mindless drivel. And no, I don't think it's too extreme.

Almost 100,000 people were gathered to celebrate Finland's Eurovision winning on Friday at Helsinki where they performed a few songs and some other bands too, it's been all about Lordi and and friggin' Eurovisions the past week. This seems to be even bigger thing than the ice hockey world champ 1995 where everyone went nuts. ;)

The song is quite okay I think.

Whoever the fuck wasn't there was watching it on TV.

I saw a 4 year old with a Lordi shirt at work yesterday. Aw!
